About our paella catering in Plaxtol

There’s something generous about paella: big pans, bright colours and a crispy base everyone wants a spoonful of. It turns a meal into an occasion. Whether it is office lunches and staff parties and wedding breakfasts and evening food, we will put together a menu of seafood paella, mixed paella and paella Valenciana for your guests.

Somewhere as small as Plaxtol, a garden or field is frequently the venue. Tell us about narrow lanes or long drives and we will plan for them, and cooking close to where we can park helps. Timings are planned around your event, whether that is speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Plaxtol: your questions answered

Can you cater a reception after a service at Plaxtol Church?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you come out to small places like Plaxtol?

No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.

Do you bring everything you need?

All cooking kit comes with us. Tell us what the venue provides, such as tables or crockery.

Is live paella good for a large crowd?

Very much so. We plan the number of pans and serving points around your numbers.

How much does paella catering cost in Plaxtol?

It depends on guest numbers, the menu, the courses, staff and travel. Send us the details for a quote.

Which paella is most popular?

It depends on your guests. A chicken or mixed paella is usually the most popular, with seafood and vegetable pans alongside.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Of course. Canapés with drinks or tapas for the tables, while the rice is cooking.

What seafood can we have?

We’ll suggest seafood to suit your menu and budget. Premium options are available.

What affects the price in Plaxtol

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Waiting and bar staff
  • How long we’re needed on site

Larger events generally cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

What we need to know

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • A photo of the space, if you can
  • The date and rough timings

Every quote is put together for your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will confirm whether we are available that day.

What we need at the venue

The right spot keeps things safe and helps the paella cook evenly. We look for:

  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
  • Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot
  • Confirmation that open cooking is allowed

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly before booking.

How it works

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up the pans and burners, and cook and serve without fuss. Planning an evening event in Plaxtol? Sunset is around 8:50pm in late May, 9:20pm at midsummer and 7:00pm in late September; after dark, the cooking and serving areas need good lighting.

  1. Get in touch with the basics: when, where and how many.
  2. We come back with paellas to suit your guests, plus any extras.
  3. A week or so before, we confirm the plan.
  4. We set up, cook from scratch and keep an eye on your timings.
  5. Guests are served from the pan, and our area is cleared afterwards.

How to prepare

  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Make sure we can park close by to unload
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches

DIY paella versus live catering

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Diets, allergies and planning

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Put allergy details in writing
  • Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down
  • Ask about diets and allergies on your invitation or RSVP
  • Request clear labels at the serving table

Paella is at its best straight from the pan, so we serve when guests are ready.

Finish with churros, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago.

Who books paella catering in Plaxtol?

Outdoor events and live paella go together: it’s cooked in the open, served hot and eaten together.

These are some of the occasions we cater around Plaxtol:

  • Garden parties and summer barbecues
  • Naming days and family parties
  • Milestone birthday parties
  • Staff parties and work lunches

Thinking of a picnic-style party in Ivy Hatch Nature Reserve? Public parks generally need permission from the council or landowner for cooking, so check first.
