Paella catering near Pipsden

About our paella catering in Pipsden

The cooking is half the fun. Guests gather round as the sofrito sizzles and the saffron colours the rice, and the aroma does the rest. Whether it is wedding breakfasts and evening food and fairs, fêtes and festivals, we can cook seafood paella, vegan paella and vegetable paella and more.

For a rural spot like Pipsden, the countryside is part of the appeal: a huge pan in a garden or field fits perfectly. Tell us about access and the ground. Everything is cooked from scratch at your event, never made in advance and reheated, and served as soon as it is ready.

What’s in the pans

Paella Valenciana

Valencians take their paella seriously. The classic version is chicken, green beans and butter beans with saffron, and it is a crowd-pleaser.

Vegetable and vegan paella

The vegetable pan is a dish in its own right: peppers, artichokes and beans with saffron.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

A cold buffet is simple but has no theatre, and food can sit out for a while. Paella is cooked live and served hot. Larger events normally cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Why book with us

  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
  • Events in Pipsden and across Kent
  • Fast service from the pan
  • Live cooking, not reheated food

The process

Service is quick: the paella goes straight from the pan to the plate, so even a long queue moves. When service is finished, we pack down. Evenings in Pipsden stay light until about 9:15pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:00pm; once it is dark, we need light to cook and serve by.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We suggest a menu and confirm a quote, including what’s included.
  3. On the day we arrive in good time, set up and start the stock.
  4. The rice cooks in full view, while tapas or canapés go round.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan and clear our area when service ends.

Before we arrive

  • Choose a level spot for the cooking area
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Name one person we can ask on the day

Prices and what affects them

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Distance and access to the venue
  • The length of service
  • Waiting and bar staff
  • Starters, canapés and desserts

Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you can choose exactly what you need.

Details that help

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • What the venue already provides
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • The courses you’d like

To get a price, use our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we will suggest paellas and extras to suit.

Questions from Pipsden

Is Pipsden close to London?

About 41 miles from central London, and well within our area.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of All Saints?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Can we choose the seafood?

Seafood choices are agreed when we plan the menu, including premium options if you want them.

How long does the paella take?

That depends on your menu and numbers. We agree the timings in advance.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, sangria. We can also supply bar staff for your own drinks.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Yes. Canapés with drinks or tapas for the tables, while the rice is cooking.

How many different paellas?

Most events have two or three: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We’ll help you decide the split.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes. Vegetarian and vegan paellas are cooked in separate pans.

Planning the cooking area

We cook in large pans over gas burners, so the cooking area needs a little planning. These are the things we check:

  • A safe distance from anything that could catch
  • The venue’s permission for live cooking
  • Access for unloading near the cooking spot

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise before booking.

What we offer

  • Paella Valenciana
  • Black rice (arroz negro)
  • Vegetable paella
  • Seafood paella
  • Vegan paella
  • Chicken & chorizo paella
  • Mixed paella
