Common questions in Neasden

What about parking in Neasden?

London parking needs planning: let us know about permits or off-street space. We’ll work around it.

Can you cook in Gladstone Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council. Check with them, and we will provide our paperwork.

Will there be enough food?

We size the pans for your numbers and the rest of the menu. Tell us what else is being served. See how much paella per person.

How many paellas should we have?

Usually two or three, so every guest has a choice. Tell us about your guests’ diets and we will suggest the mix.

Can the paella be cooked in a hall?

Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Courtyards, doorways and terraces frequently work.

Is it really cooked live?

Yes. We cook from scratch in large pans at your venue, in front of your guests.

Do you cater in Neasden?

Yes, we do. Neasden is one of the places we cover. Send us your date to check availability.

How long do you need on site?

It depends on the menu and numbers. We agree the timings in advance so the paella is ready when you want it.

How our paella catering works in Neasden

We cook every paella from scratch on the day, starting with a slow sofrito of onion, garlic, peppers and tomato, followed by stock, saffron and rice. For big birthdays and leaving dos and retirements, we can cook paella Valenciana, mixed paella and black rice.

Gardens in London can be narrow, which is fine for live paella as long as there is a level spot clear of fences and trees. For an event in Neasden, tell us where we can park to unload. Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included, each in a separate pan.

Occasions we cook for in Neasden

Paella is quick to serve and suits mixed diets, so it suits all kinds of occasions. It gives people something to gather round, too.

Big or small, live paella works well. Typical bookings include:

  • Big birthdays
  • Office lunches and staff parties
  • Anniversary celebrations
  • Retirement and leaving parties

Parks such as Gladstone Park usually need the owner’s permission for cooking, so ask before you plan a party there.

How to compare caterers

Why choose live paella in Neasden?

If you want something different from the usual buffet or roast, live paella adds colour, smell and theatre. Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Everything is confirmed in writing.

Why Neasden hosts choose us

  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
  • A quote that spells everything out
  • Drinks service on request
  • Plates, cutlery and waiting staff available

Read Our pricing And Our guide to catering costs.

Prices and what affects them

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • How many guests are eating
  • Travel, parking and access
  • Waiting and bar staff

The cost per head typically falls as numbers rise, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

What we need to know

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • The venue or postcode
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • The date and rough timings
  • A picture of where we’d cook

Every quote is put together for your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll check availability at the same time.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

What’s in the pans

Seafood paella

Prawns, mussels and squid in a rich fish stock, finished with lemon wedges. It is the pan people photograph.

Mixed paella

A mix of chicken and seafood, and a popular all-rounder.

Planners, venues and businesses

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Planning for every diet

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. We suggest:

  • Let us know about other food at the event
  • Request clear labels at the serving table
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Collect dietary needs with your RSVPs

After service, we pack down our cooking area, quietly and quickly.

Sangria and bar staff can be added to serve drinks you provide.

How it works

The paella is cooked in huge, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, and we agree where that is before the day. In Neasden, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan the menu with you, including every diet.
  3. We arrive early to set up the burners and pans.
  4. The paella cooks as guests gather round.
  5. Service is straight from the pan, then we pack down.

Getting ready for the day

  • Plan cover in case of rain
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
