Paella catering near Milland

About our paella catering in Milland

Everything is cooked from scratch on site, starting with a slow sofrito of onion, garlic, peppers and tomato, followed by stock, saffron and rice. Typical bookings include summer garden parties and engagement and anniversary parties, serving chicken and chorizo paella, paella Valenciana and vegan paella.

For a rural spot like Milland, the countryside is part of the appeal: a paella cooking in a garden or field feels right at home. Let us know about access and ground conditions. We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in a separate pan and clearly labelled.

12 questions to ask before booking

What paella catering costs

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Whether you need crockery
  • The length of service
  • How many courses
  • Your choice of paellas

Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.

What we need to know

Good planning starts with a few facts. Please include:

  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • A photo of the space, if you can
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts

We quote for each event separately, so you only pay for what you need. For a quote, send us your details through our quote form.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

Questions from Milland

What’s the nearest station to Milland for guests?

Liphook station, about 2.4 miles north of the centre.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Tuxlith Chapel?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

What do you need at the venue?

Not a lot: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. Send us a picture if you are not sure.

Do you cater for young children?

Yes, children are easy to cater for. Let us know numbers and ages, and we’ll plan a pan with them in mind.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes. We bring the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook on the day, serving it hot from the pan.

What equipment do you bring?

All cooking kit comes with us. Tell us what the venue provides, such as tables or crockery.

When should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it is short notice, it’s worth asking.

How much paella per person?

Pans are sized to your numbers and other courses. Tell us what else is being served. Our guide to portions explains more.

Catering for every guest

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Mention any other courses or food
  • Have seats for most of your guests
  • Let us know if anyone has coeliac disease
  • Ask for labels on each pan

You shouldn’t have to worry about the food on the day. We arrive in good time, set up, cook and serve, and keep in touch with you or your venue about timings.

Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana finish the meal.

How it works

The cooking is part of the entertainment. We start with the sofrito, add the stock and saffron, then spread the rice across the pan and leave it alone to cook. Around midsummer it stays light in Milland until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. Contact us with the basics: when, where and how many.
  2. Expect a menu idea and a clear, itemised price.
  3. A week or so before, we confirm the plan.
  4. We set up, cook from scratch and keep an eye on your timings.
  5. Guests are served from the pan, and our area is cleared afterwards.

How to prepare

  • Plan cover in case of rain
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
  • Tell us where to park and unload

How to get a price

We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. You can send us your details through our quote form.

What we need at the venue

No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space before we confirm. In general, we need:

  • Somewhere close to park and unload
  • Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot
  • Level ground for the pans and burners

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.

Popular choices

  • Mixed paella
  • Seafood paella
