Diets, allergies and planning

Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included. To get it right:

  • Send allergies to us in writing
  • Add a dietary question to your invitations
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Have seats for most of your guests

A short rest after cooking helps, which is when we generally call guests over.

Bread, salad and lemon go well alongside.

How it works

Serving is fast: we serve straight from the pan, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our cooking area away. Planning an evening event in Aldershot? Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May, 9:20pm at midsummer and 7:05pm in late September; after dark, the cooking and serving areas need good lighting.

  1. First, you send us your date, venue, numbers and diets.
  2. We suggest a menu and confirm a quote, including what’s included.
  3. On the day, we set up the burners and pans and get the stock going.
  4. The paella cooks in front of your guests, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
  5. It is served straight from the pan, and we pack down afterwards.

Preparing for the day

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but you will still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. We take care of all of it.

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

Dishes our guests love

Mixed paella

Paella mixta combines meat and seafood in one pan, and it is often the first pan to empty.

Paella Valenciana

Paella Valenciana is the original: chicken, beans and saffron, not seafood. It is frequently the most popular pan at an event.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Vans serve one order at a time. A big pan serves many guests fast, so everyone can eat at the same time. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, bread and salads, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.

Why us?

  • Sangria and bar staff available
  • Everything cooked fresh at your event
  • Separate pans for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests
  • A clear, itemised quote
