Paella catering in Longlands

About our paella catering in Longlands

There’s something generous about paella: huge pans, saffron colour and a toasted crust that everyone fights over. It turns a meal into an occasion. Whether it is weddings, from canapés to evening food and engagement and anniversary parties, we can cook mixed paella, black rice and chicken and chorizo paella for your guests.

In Longlands, events range from terrace gardens to hired halls. Tell us how close we can park, and whether there are steps or narrow passages. We cook every pan in full view of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.

What happens on the day

When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so we time everything to your schedule. Evenings in Longlands stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm; once it’s dark, we need light to cook and serve by.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We arrive in good time to set up.
  4. The paella cooks as guests gather round.
  5. We serve hot from the pan and clear our cooking area.

Before we arrive

  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
  • Choose a level spot for the cooking area

Dietary needs and planning tips

We take diets and allergies seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Pick a mix of paellas to cover every diet
  • Let us know if anyone has coeliac disease
  • Collect dietary needs with your RSVPs
  • Ask for labels on each pan

You shouldn’t have to worry about the food on the day. We set up, cook and serve, and keep in touch with you or your venue about timings.

Sangria and bar staff can be added for your own drinks.

What we need at the venue

We’ll agree the cooking spot with you before the day. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo

As a London location, Longlands is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking takes planning: tell us about parking bays, permits or a driveway.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and we will say what we think.

What we offer

  • Paella Valenciana
  • Vegetable paella
  • Seafood paella
  • Black rice (arroz negro)

Longlands: your questions answered

Is parking a problem for events in Longlands?

It can be, so tell us about parking bays, permits or a driveway. We’ll work around it.

Can you cook in Waring Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council. Ask them first, and we will send any information they need.

Do you take everything away?

We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.

How many different paellas?

Two or three covers most guests. We will recommend a mix based on diets.

Can the paella be cooked in a hall?

Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

What is live paella catering?

We set up a cooking area at your venue, cook the paella from scratch in large pans while your guests watch, and serve it straight from the pan.

Is live paella good for a large crowd?

Yes. Big pans feed a lot of people, and service from the pan is quick.

What space do you need to cook?

Not a lot: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. If in doubt, send a picture.

What paella catering costs

Live paella pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • Timings and hours
  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • Travel, parking and access
  • Your choice of paellas

Travel, parking and access can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Everything is confirmed in writing.

What we need to know

To check availability and price, we need:

  • The courses you’d like
  • A picture of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field
  • The date and time of the event
  • The address or venue name

Not sure what you need yet? No problem: give us the basics about your event, and we’ll make suggestions. Start when you’re ready: use our quote form.

What’s in the pans

Black rice

Squid ink rice is bold and savoury.

Paella Valenciana

The original paella from Valencia is a countryside dish of chicken and vegetables, rather than seafood. It’s frequently the most popular pan at an event.

DIY paella versus live catering

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.
