Live paella catering in Kingwood Common

Paella catering in Kingwood Common, cooked live

There’s something generous about paella: giant pans, saffron colour and a toasted crust that everyone fights over. It makes the food an event in itself. Popular choices include paella Valenciana, seafood paella and mixed paella, and we’re regularly asked to cater community events and fairs and weddings and evening receptions.

In a rural place like Kingwood Common, the setting does a lot of the work: a paella cooking in a garden or field feels right at home. Let us know about access and ground conditions. Each paella is cooked from scratch on the day, never made in advance and reheated, and served as soon as it is ready.

Vegetable and vegan paella

A slow sofrito, seasonal vegetables and a good vegetable stock make a proper main dish. Vegan versions use plant-based stock.

The process

The cooking is part of the entertainment. Onion, garlic, peppers and tomato go in first, then the stock and saffron, then the rice, which cooks without stirring while your guests chat. Evenings in Kingwood Common stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm; after dark, the cooking and serving areas need good lighting.

  1. First, you send us your date, venue, numbers and diets.
  2. We suggest a menu and confirm a quote, including what’s included.
  3. On the day, we set up the burners and pans and get the stock going.
  4. Your guests watch the paella cook, with any tapas served first.
  5. We serve from the pan, then clear our cooking area away.

Before we arrive

  • Choose a level spot for the cooking area
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
