Paella catering in Kingsgate, cooked live

Everything is cooked from scratch on site, beginning with a sofrito of onion, garlic, peppers and tomato, followed by stock, saffron and rice. We cook chicken and chorizo paella, mixed paella and vegan paella, and typical bookings are for weddings, from canapés to evening food and office lunches and staff parties.

In a hamlet or village like Kingsgate, your own garden or a neighbour’s field can make a wonderful venue. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. Each paella is cooked from scratch on the day, not reheated, and served the moment it is ready.

Kingsgate: venues, travel and local tips

Kingsgate is about 2 miles north of Broadstairs, in Kent. For an event in Kingsgate, we cater in back gardens, halls with outdoor space, barns, marquees and offices in and around Kingsgate. We cook in 922 places in Kent. You can also see our page for Canterbury, about 17 miles away.

School fairs and fundraisers, for a school such as Callis Grange Nursery and Infant School, can book us as a food stall. For guests coming by train, the nearest station is Broadstairs station, about 1.6 miles south. The coast is within about 3 miles of Kingsgate, so a seafood pan is a popular choice. Coastal wind means we plan a sheltered spot.

We cater events across the CT10 postcode area and the streets around it. Streets in the area include Joss Gap Road, Kingsgate Bay Road and Holland Close, and we can cook for an event on any of them. What affects the price in Kingsgate

There are no hidden charges: the quote reflects:

  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Guest numbers
  • Timings and hours
  • Waiting and bar staff

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. Our quotes spell it all out.

What to tell us

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what’s useful:

  • The address or venue name
  • Anything your venue supplies
  • The date and time of the event
  • Expected numbers

Not sure what you need yet? No problem: give us the basics about your event, and we’ll suggest a menu. Start when you’re ready: use our quote form.

Is live paella right for your event?

Vans serve one order at a time. A big pan serves many guests fast, which suits weddings and parties where everyone eats together. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so your choice of paellas affects the total. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Your questions about paella catering in Kingsgate

Do you come out to small places like Kingsgate?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

We are having a ceremony at St Philip: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking usually happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We pack down our cooking area after service. Clearing guests’ plates and tables can be added with waiting staff.

Is paella a full meal?

Paella is a meal in itself. Many hosts add tapas first or dessert after.

Do you offer halal options?

We can. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and it’s cooked separately.

What does paella catering cost?

We quote for each event, based on what you actually want. Tell us your date and numbers and we will reply with a price.

Can the paella be cooked in a hall?

Mostly outside or under an open cover, because we use gas burners. We will check whether your venue has a suitable space.

Can we add tapas or canapés?

Yes, it’s the classic pairing. Tapas go out first, then the paella.

How it works

We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you are free to enjoy your event. Any tapas or canapés are served first as the rice is cooking. Around midsummer it stays light in Kingsgate until about 9:15pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:50pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested menu and an itemised quote.
  3. On the day, we set up the burners and pans and get the stock going.
  4. The paella cooks in front of your guests, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
  5. It is served straight from the pan, and we pack down afterwards.
