Live paella catering in Holton
Catering for every guest
Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because every paella has its own pan. A few tips:
- Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
- Pick a mix of paellas to cover every diet
- Count adults and children separately
- Ask for labels on each pan
If you’ve booked staff, they’ll serve, clear and help keep things moving, so you can relax.
Finish with churros, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago, or serve your own cake.
About our paella catering in Holton
Keep it simple, or go all out: paella on its own, or with canapés, table tapas, desserts and sangria. We will suggest what suits your event. Popular choices include black rice, vegan paella and paella Valenciana, and we are often booked for christenings and family gatherings and fairs, fêtes and festivals.
In a rural place like Holton, the setting does a lot of the work: a paella cooking in a garden or field feels right at home. Tell us about access and the ground. We bring everything we need to cook, and pack down our cooking area when service is finished.

Other catering in Holton
Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?
Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there’s shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.
DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.
Paella compared with other options
Vans serve one order at a time. A paella pan serves many portions quickly, which suits weddings and parties where everyone eats together. Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. Ask us for a quote.
Why Holton hosts choose us
- Separate pans for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests
- Plates, cutlery and waiting staff available
- Events in Holton and across Oxfordshire
- Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
Holton questions
Is Holton too small for live paella?
No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.
We are having a ceremony at The Granary Church: can you cater afterwards?
Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking generally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.
Which paella is most popular?
It depends on your guests. A chicken or mixed paella is normally the most popular, alongside seafood and vegetable or vegan pans.
Can you cook indoors?
Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.
Do you provide drinks?
Sangria, yes. We can also supply bar staff for your own drinks.
Do you cater for vegetarian guests?
Of course. We cook vegetarian and vegan paellas in their own pans, alongside the meat and seafood pans.
Do you cater in Holton?
We do. Holton is one of the places we cover. Tell us your date and we’ll check availability.
What does paella catering cost?
We quote for each event, so you only pay for what you need. Tell us your date and numbers for a clear quote.
Organising for someone else?
For larger events, we plan the number of pans and serving points around your timings, so guests are fed quickly. Let us know how long the food break is.
Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we will talk you through the process. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.
How we price paella catering
There’s nothing hidden: the price is based on:
- How many courses
- Timings and hours
- Plates, cutlery and glassware
- Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
Larger events usually cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we will quote.
Details that help
When you contact us, it helps to tell us:
- The date and rough timings
- Whether the venue has crockery or staff
- Expected numbers
- Which courses you have in mind
We need only a few details to quote: date, location, guest numbers and diets. You can use our quote form.

Planning the cooking area
Every venue is different, so we ask about the space when you get in touch. In general, we need:

- Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
- A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

What happens on the day
We cook over gas burners in wide, shallow pans. We need a level, ventilated spot, and we agree where that is before the day. Around midsummer it stays light in Holton until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening events are normally served in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.
- Contact us with the basics: when, where and how many.
- We come back with paellas to suit your guests, plus any extras.
- Closer to the day, we confirm timings and the cooking spot.
- We set up, cook from scratch and keep an eye on your timings.
- We serve, then leave our area tidy.
Preparing for the day
- Plan cover in case of rain
- Give us your final numbers and diets
