Paella catering near Highfield

Should I cook it myself?

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.

About our paella catering in Highfield

We arrive with the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook the paella in front of your guests. Once it’s ready, we serve it hot from the pan. Whether it is office lunches and staff parties and engagement and anniversary parties, we can cook black rice, mixed paella and chicken and chorizo paella for your guests.

A place like Highfield frequently has a hall, a club or a pub garden nearby; live paella can work at any of them, given permission and outdoor space. You’ll know exactly what’s included before booking: menu, staff, crockery and anything else you choose, with no surprises on the day.

Diets, allergies and planning

With a little notice, every diet is easy. We suggest:

  • Let us know if anyone has coeliac disease
  • Plan a meat, a seafood and a vegetable or vegan pan
  • Mention any other courses or food
  • Send allergies to us in writing

A short rest after cooking helps, and that is when we invite guests up.

Crockery, cutlery and waiting staff are available if your venue does not provide them.

Catering an event in Highfield

Highfield is about 1 mile north of Southampton, in Southampton. Whether your event is in the middle of Highfield or on the outskirts, paella catering works the same way: live cooking, separate pans for every diet and a clear price. We cater in 40 places across Southampton, from the larger towns to small villages.

If you’re celebrating after a service at a church like Highfield Church, live paella at a garden or venue nearby works well. If you are organising a summer fair for a school like Highfield Church of England Primary School, a paella stall is a crowd-pleaser. The coast is within about 3 miles of Highfield, and seafood paella always feels right near the sea. Sea breezes can be strong, so we plan a sheltered cooking spot.

The menu, dish by dish

Seafood paella

Prawns, mussels and squid in a rich fish stock, cooked until the rice is golden. It is the pan people photograph.

Paella Valenciana

Paella Valenciana is the original: chicken, beans and saffron, rather than seafood. It is often the most popular pan at an event.

How we price paella catering

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Whether you need crockery
  • Travel, parking and access
  • How long we are needed on site
  • Waiting and bar staff

Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.

What we need to know

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Expected numbers
  • The date and rough timings
  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • Anything your venue supplies

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, along with any dietary needs, and you will get a menu idea and a price. Just use our quote form.

The process

From set-up to serving, we look after the food, so you’re free to enjoy your event. Any tapas or canapés are served first as the rice is cooking. Evenings in Highfield stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm; once it’s dark, we need light to cook and serve by.

  1. First, tell us about your event.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a clear quote.
  3. We agree timings, access and the cooking spot.
  4. On the day, we set up and cook in front of your guests.
  5. It’s served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

Getting ready for the day

  • Check the venue allows live cooking

Why choose live paella in Highfield?

A plated meal needs a kitchen, more staff and usually costs more per head. Live paella needs a level, ventilated spot and the venue’s permission to cook, and gives guests something to watch. Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so the menu you choose affects the price. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Why us?

  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan
  • Starters and desserts to complete the menu
  • No hidden extras in your quote
  • Plates, cutlery and waiting staff available

Take a look at Our prices page And Our guide to catering costs.

Where we can cook in Highfield

Before the day, we will agree where we cook. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
  • Parking close enough to carry equipment
  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and we’ll say what we think.

Menu ideas
