Paella catering in Higham

For planners, venues and organisers

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Higham? Paella is quick to serve to a crowd and suits most diets. Give us the details and we’ll suggest a plan.

If you are organising for someone else, whether you are a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Paella catering in Higham, cooked live

There’s something generous about paella: huge pans, saffron colour and a toasted crust that everyone fights over. It makes the food an event in itself. We are often asked to cater birthday celebrations and office lunches and staff parties, serving vegan paella, black rice and seafood paella.

In a small place like Higham, events are typically in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Tell us about narrow lanes or long drives and we will plan for them, and cooking close to where we can park helps. Every pan is cooked in front of your guests, so the food is hot, fresh and part of the occasion.

12 questions to ask before booking

Diets, allergies and planning

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Here’s how:

  • Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
  • Add a dietary question to your invitations
  • Let us know about other food at the event
  • Request clear labels at the serving table

Paella is best eaten as soon as it’s ready, so we serve when guests are ready.

Add canapé tapas with the drinks or table tapas as a starter while the paella cooks.

How we price paella catering

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • Whether you need crockery
  • Waiting and bar staff
  • The paellas you choose
  • How long we’re needed on site

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Everything is confirmed in writing.

Getting an accurate quote

Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:

  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • Where the event is
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • What the venue already provides

It is easy to get a price: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We’ll come back with a clear quote.

About the dishes

Vegetable and vegan paella

Seasonal vegetables on a rich sofrito base make a proper main dish. For vegans, the stock is plant-based.

Black rice

Black rice looks dramatic and tastes of the sea.

How it works

The paella is cooked in huge, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, which we agree with you beforehand. In Higham, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:50pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. First, you send us your date, venue, numbers and diets.
  2. We put together a menu and a clear quote.
  3. On the day we arrive in good time, set up and start the stock.
  4. Your guests watch the paella cook, with any tapas served first.
  5. It is served straight from the pan, and we pack down afterwards.

Getting ready for the day

  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
  • Get the venue’s permission for cooking
  • Have a level space ready for the pans

Live paella or other catering?

With a barbecue, food comes in waves. Paella is cooked as one big dish and served together. Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. Ask us for a quote.
