How our paella catering works in Halling

Almost any venue with a level, ventilated spot will do: a garden, marquee, barn, courtyard or field. For naming days and family parties and milestone birthday parties, we can cook chicken and chorizo paella, vegetable paella and vegan paella and more.

For a rural spot like Halling, the countryside is part of the appeal: a huge pan in a garden or field fits perfectly. Let us know about access and ground conditions. The paella is served straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and a queue moves quickly.

The process

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, set up our cooking area, and cook and serve without fuss. Around midsummer it stays light in Halling until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:50pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. You share your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan the menu with you, including every diet.
  3. We arrive in good time to set up.
  4. The paella cooks as guests gather round.
  5. We serve hot from the pan and clear our cooking area.

How to prepare

  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Ensure we can park close by to unload

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

How we price paella catering

Your quote will be clear and itemised. The main things that affect it are:

  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • Parking and unloading
  • The number of people
  • The length of service

Live paella frequently compares well with a sit-down meal, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. Ask us for a quote.

What to tell us

You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • Anything your venue supplies
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts

Most quotes start with a few simple details: date, location, guest numbers and diets. To send them, send us your details through our quote form.

The menu, dish by dish

Seafood paella

Seafood paella starts with a good fish and shellfish stock. The shellfish is added late so it stays tender.

Vegetable and vegan paella

Seasonal vegetables on a rich sofrito base make a proper main dish. Vegan versions use plant-based stock.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.

For big numbers, we plan pans and serving points to keep queues short, so guests are fed quickly. Let us know how long the food break is.
