About our paella catering in Hall's Green

Two or three pans side by side cover every guest: meat, seafood and vegetarian or vegan paellas. Each is cooked separately. We cook mixed paella, black rice and vegetable paella, and we are frequently booked for company summer parties and anniversaries and engagement parties.

In a hamlet or village like Hall's Green, your own garden or a neighbour’s field can make a wonderful venue. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, with each paella cooked in its own pan and clearly labelled.

Why choose paella catering in Hall's Green?

There’s no kitchen needed, so it is at home in gardens, fields and marquees where plated meals are hard.

Whatever the occasion, paella can be the star of the food. We frequently cook for:

  • Anniversary celebrations
  • Community events and fairs
  • Garden get-togethers
  • Christenings and family gatherings

School fairs and fundraisers, for a school such as Weald Community Primary School, can book us as a food stall.

Choosing a paella caterer

For planners, venues and organisers

If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Events in public spaces, like parks, generally need permission. We’ll provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

Hall's Green: your questions answered

What’s the nearest station to Hall's Green for guests?

The closest is Penshurst station, roughly 1.9 miles away.

Could we have live paella in Bough Beech Reservoir?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, typically the council. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.

Can you cook halal paella?

Yes, on request. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and it’s cooked separately.

What is live paella catering?

We bring everything needed to cook on site, cook while everyone watches, and serve when you are ready to eat.

Is live paella good for a large crowd?

Yes. Large pans and fast service from the pan make it well suited to crowds.

How long do you need on site?

It depends on the menu and numbers. We agree the timings in advance so the paella is ready when you want it.

Can you cook indoors?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Courtyards, doorways and terraces often work.

Do we need to provide equipment?

All cooking kit comes with us. Let us know what your venue has, like tables or crockery.

What happens on the day

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, and we agree where that is before the day. In Hall's Green, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. First, tell us about your event.
  2. You get a menu and an itemised quote.
  3. We agree timings, access and the cooking spot.
  4. On the day, we set up and cook in front of your guests.
  5. It is served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

How to prepare

  • Leave space around the cooking area
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day

The menu, dish by dish

Vegetable and vegan paella

A vegetable paella isn’t an afterthought: artichokes, beans, peppers and saffron, cooked in its own pan.

Mixed paella

A mix of chicken and seafood, for guests who want a bit of everything.

Planning for every diet

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:

  • Ask about diets and allergies on your invitation or RSVP
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Confirm allergies by email
  • Let us know if anyone has coeliac disease

On the day, you shouldn’t have to think about the food. We set up, cook and serve, and stay in touch with your venue about timings.

Tapas or canapés make a good start while the paella cooks.

Before you choose a spot

No two venues are the same, so we will ask about yours when you contact us. Generally, we look for:

  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
  • Parking close enough to carry equipment
  • Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before booking.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. We are happy to give you a quote to compare.

Paella compared with other options

Barbecues cook in batches, so food comes off in waves. Paella is cooked as one big dish and served together. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.

Why Hall's Green hosts choose us

  • Fast service from the pan
  • Cooking your guests will gather round to watch
  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
  • Drinks service on request
