Paella catering near Charcott

Paella catering in Charcott, made fresh on the day

A couple of different pans covers everyone: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Every pan is cooked on its own. On the menu are black rice, vegan paella and mixed paella, and typical bookings are for weddings and evening receptions and office lunches and staff parties.

In a rural place like Charcott, the setting does a lot of the work: a paella cooking in a garden or field feels right at home. Tell us about access and the ground. You can add tapas, desserts, sangria, bar staff and waiting staff, so the whole menu comes from one caterer.

Is live paella right for your event?

Compared with a hog roast or barbecue, live paella is easier for vegetarian, vegan and halal guests, because each paella has its own pan. It’s served quickly from the pan, so queues move. Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. We’ll send you a quote.

Why book with us

Take a look at How we price Or What paella catering costs.

The menu, dish by dish

Paella Valenciana

The original paella from Valencia is a countryside dish of chicken and vegetables, rather than seafood. It is often the most popular pan at an event.

Mixed paella

Mixed paella brings meat and seafood together, and it is often the first pan to empty.

How we price paella catering

There are no hidden charges: the quote reflects:

  • Travel, parking and access
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • Timings and hours
  • The number of people

Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so your choice of paellas affects the total. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

What to tell us

When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

  • The venue or postcode
  • The date and rough timings
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers

Questions from Charcott

Do you come out to small places like Charcott?

No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.

What’s the nearest station to Charcott for guests?

Penshurst station, about 0.5 miles south-west of the centre.

How much does paella catering cost in Charcott?

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you actually want. Tell us your date and numbers for a clear quote.

Do you do starters?

Yes, and it’s a popular combination. Tapas first, paella to follow.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We pack down our cooking area after service. Clearing guests’ plates and tables can be added with waiting staff.

Can you serve drinks?

Sangria can be added, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

Do you cater for young children?

Children are welcome. Let us know numbers and ages, and we will plan for them.

Can you cook halal paella?

Yes. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in a separate pan.

Step by step

On the day, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so the timing is planned around your event. Around midsummer it stays light in Charcott until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan the menu with you, including every diet.
  3. We arrive early to set up the burners and pans.
  4. The paella cooks as guests gather round.
  5. Service is straight from the pan, then we pack down.

Before we arrive

  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day

Catering for every guest

We take diets and allergies seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Have seats for most of your guests
  • Mention any other courses or food
  • Send allergies to us in writing
  • Choose two or three paellas so every guest has a choice

If you’ve booked staff, they’ll serve, clear and help keep things moving, so you can relax.

We can add sangria and bar staff for your own drinks.

Planning the cooking area

No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space when you contact us. In general, we need:

  • Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable
  • Somewhere close to park and unload
  • The venue’s permission for live cooking

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly before booking.
