Paella catering for Eltham events

Paella catering in Eltham, cooked live

A couple of different pans covers everyone: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Every pan is cooked on its own. Popular choices include paella Valenciana, mixed paella and chicken and chorizo paella, and we are often booked for weddings, from canapés to evening food and family celebrations and christenings.

Around Eltham, most London events we’re asked about are in gardens, courtyards and hired venues. Parking and loading are the main things to plan, so let us know about parking permits or a driveway. The paella is served straight from the pan, so it’s hot and generous, and service is quick once it’s ready.

Prices and what affects them

We’ll give you a clear, itemised quote. What affects it most:

  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • How many guests are eating
  • Waiting and bar staff

The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, plus any staff, crockery and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Getting an accurate quote

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • A picture of the space, if you can

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, plus any dietary needs, and we will reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. Just use our quote form.

Is live paella right for your event?

Plated meals need a kitchen and a bigger team. Live paella needs only a level, ventilated spot and permission to cook, and it’s entertaining too. Travel, parking and access can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Everything is confirmed in writing.

What you get with us

  • Every diet catered for, pan by pan
  • A clear, itemised quote
  • Sangria and bar staff available
  • Live cooking, not reheated food

DIY paella versus live catering

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but you will still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.

Nearby historic houses include Eltham Palace (under half a mile north-west) and Danson House (2.8 miles east). If your event is at a historic house or estate, check its rules on caterers and cooking early. School fairs and fundraisers, for a school such as St Thomas More Catholic Comprehensive School, can book us as a food stall.

We cook at events all over the SE9, SE12, DA15 and BR7 postcode area and the streets around it. Local streets include Eltham High Street, Tarnwood Park and Elmslie Court; an event at home on any of them works well with live paella. Planning for every diet

We take diets and allergies seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Collect dietary needs with your RSVPs
  • Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
  • Count adults and children separately
  • Make sure most guests can sit to eat

If you’ve booked staff, they’ll serve, clear and help keep things moving, so you can enjoy your guests.

Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana finish the meal, or serve your own cake.

Eltham questions

Could we have live paella in Horn Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, usually the council. Ask them first, and we will send any information they need.

Which station should guests use for Eltham?

Eltham has its own station: Mottingham station.

What is live paella catering?

We bring everything needed to cook on site, cook in front of your guests, and serve when you’re ready to eat.

Are premium seafood options available?

Tell us your preferences and we’ll suggest seafood options to suit your menu and budget. Premium shellfish can be added.

Can you cook indoors?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Courtyards, doorways and terraces frequently work.

Where do you cater?

London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including Eltham.

Is it really cooked live?

Yes, always. We cook from scratch in large pans at your venue, in front of your guests.

Is paella enough as a main?

It’s a full meal on its own. Tapas and desserts can be added if you like.

What happens on the day

When we arrive, we set up our cooking area, light the burners and start the sofrito. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so we time everything to your schedule. Around midsummer it stays light in Eltham until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. First, tell us about your event.
  2. You get a menu and an itemised quote.
  3. Timings, access and the cooking area are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day, we set up and cook in front of your guests.
  5. It is served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

How to prepare

  • Tell us where to park and unload
  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
