Paella catering for Earlsfield events

About our paella catering in Earlsfield

Paella was made for feeding a crowd: cooked in the open in a big, shallow pan and shared straight from it. That is what we bring to events in Earlsfield. Popular choices include black rice, paella Valenciana and chicken and chorizo paella, and typical bookings are for naming days and family parties and staff parties and work lunches.

London gardens are frequently long and narrow, which is fine for live paella as long as there’s a level spot clear of fences and trees. In Earlsfield, the bigger question is parking near the house or venue. Everything is cooked from scratch at your event, not reheated, and served the moment it is ready.

Is live paella right for your event?

With a barbecue, food comes in waves. Paella is cooked as one big dish and served together. Live paella pricing depends on the event. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. We itemise everything in your quote.

Diets, allergies and planning

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Count adults and children separately
  • Send allergies to us in writing
  • Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Plan a meat, a seafood and a vegetable or vegan pan

Paella is at its best straight from the pan, so we plan service for when guests are ready to eat.

We can add sangria and bar staff for your own drinks.

How we price paella catering

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Parking and unloading
  • How many courses
  • Guest numbers

Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Details that help

To check availability and price, we need:

  • What the venue already provides
  • The address or venue name
  • The date and rough timings
  • Any dietary needs and allergies

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will check availability at the same time.

Earlsfield questions

Is parking a problem for events in Earlsfield?

It can be, so tell us about parking bays, permits or a driveway. We will work around it.

Can you cater a reception after a service at St John the Divine?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Do you bring everything you need?

Pans, burners and ingredients all come with us. You provide a suitable spot and access.

Can you feed a lot of people?

Yes. Large pans and fast service from the pan make it well suited to crowds.

How long does the paella take?

It depends on the menu and numbers. We agree the timings in advance so the paella is ready when you want it.

What if the weather’s bad?

We need a covered spot, such as a gazebo, marquee or open-sided barn with good ventilation. We’ll agree a wet-weather plan with you.

Can you bring crockery?

If you need them, yes. Proper crockery or quality disposables can be added to your booking.

Do you do desserts?

We can add a dessert. Let us know if you’d like one in your enquiry.

How the day works

Here’s how the day normally runs: we arrive, set up and start cooking, the rice cooks in front of your guests, and it is served hot from the pan when you’re ready to eat. Evenings in Earlsfield stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm; once it’s dark, we need light to cook and serve by.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We arrive in good time to set up.
  4. The sofrito, stock and rice go in, and guests gather to watch.
  5. Service is straight from the pan, then we pack down.

Getting ready for the day

  • Leave space around the cooking area
  • Have a level space ready for the pans
  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely

What we need at the venue

We cook in large pans over gas burners, so we need a suitable spot. Here’s what we look for:

  • Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover
  • Somewhere close to park and unload
  • Level ground for the pans and burners

As a London location, Earlsfield is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking takes planning: let us know about permits, bays or off-street parking.

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.

Dishes our guests love

Seafood paella

Prawns, mussels and squid in a rich fish stock, cooked until the rice is golden. It is normally the most photographed pan.

Vegetable and vegan paella

The vegetable pan is a dish in its own right: artichokes, beans, peppers and saffron, cooked in its own pan.

DIY paella versus live catering

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there’s shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

For planners, venues and organisers

For larger events, we plan the number of pans and serving points around your timings, so guests are fed quickly. Tell us how long you have for food.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.
