Paella catering for your event in Dukes Green

A couple of different pans covers everyone: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Each is cooked separately. We cook black rice, chicken and chorizo paella and vegan paella, and typical bookings are for christenings and family gatherings and milestone birthday parties.

In a small place like Dukes Green, events are usually in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Country lanes and long drives are no problem if we know about them, and cooking close to where we can park helps. You’ll know exactly what’s included before you book: the menu, the staff and any extras, with no surprises on the day.

The menu, dish by dish

Mixed paella

A mix of chicken and seafood, and a popular all-rounder.

Black rice

Black rice gets its colour from squid ink, traditionally with alioli. It is a striking addition to a seafood menu.

For planners, venues and organisers

If you are booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we’ll explain how it works. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

If you’re organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

How it works

On the day, we set up our cooking area, light the burners and start the sofrito. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so the timing is planned around your event. In Dukes Green, the sun sets at about 9:15pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. We start with a few details about your event.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a clear quote.
  3. We agree timings, access and the cooking spot.
  4. On the day, we set up and cook in front of your guests.
  5. It’s served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

Your questions about paella catering in Dukes Green

Can you cook near the sea around Dukes Green?

Yes, as long as we can shelter from the wind. Sea breezes cool the pan, so a windbreak, building or gazebo helps.

Is Dukes Green close to London?

About 50 miles from central London.

What if the weather’s bad?

We need a covered spot, like a gazebo or open-sided marquee. We plan for rain with you in advance.

Do you provide plates and cutlery?

If you need them, yes. Proper crockery or quality disposables can be added to your booking.

Do you cook inside?

Typically we cook outdoors or under a ventilated cover, since the burners are gas. We will check whether your venue has a suitable space.

Do you cater for young children?

Children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will plan for them.

What equipment do you bring?

All cooking kit comes with us. Let us know what your venue has, like tables or crockery.

What happens with live paella?

We bring everything needed to cook on site, cook in front of your guests, and serve at the time you want.

Is live paella right for your event?

Vans serve one order at a time. A big pan serves many guests fast, so everyone can eat at the same time. Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, as there is no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. We will send you a quote.

How to compare caterers

Planning for every diet

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Tell us what else is being served
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Plan a meat, a seafood and a vegetable or vegan pan
  • Send allergies to us in writing

Paella is at its best straight from the pan, so we plan service for when guests are ready to eat.

Bread, salad and lemon wedges make the meal go further and suit guests who are not big rice eaters.

Should I cook it myself?

Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles separate pans for each diet.
