Paella catering in Cowplain
For event organisers in Cowplain
Throwing a party at home? Send us a photo of the garden and tell us about access, and we’ll tell you honestly whether live paella will work.
If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.
How our paella catering works in Cowplain
The cooking is half the fun. Guests gather round as the sofrito sizzles and the saffron colours the rice, and the smell does the rest. Whether it’s anniversary celebrations and office lunches and staff parties, we’ll put together a menu of black rice, chicken and chorizo paella and mixed paella for your guests.
There may be a hall or club near Cowplain if your garden is small; any can work for paella, with permission and somewhere outside to cook. We serve straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and a queue moves quickly.
What we need at the venue
Every venue is different, so we will ask about yours before we confirm. Generally, we look for:
- Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
- A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
- Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable
Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.

Paella compared with other options
Vans serve one order at a time. A big pan serves many guests fast, which suits weddings and parties where everyone eats together. Larger events generally cost less per head, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.
Why book with us
- Sangria, plus bar staff for your own drinks
- No hidden extras in your quote
- Real theatre, not just catering
- Crockery and waiting staff if you need them
The process
The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, and we agree where that is before the day. Around midsummer it stays light in Cowplain until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 4:00pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.
- It starts with your date, venue, numbers and any dietary needs.
- We put together a menu and a clear quote.
- On the day we arrive in good time, set up and start the stock.
- Your guests watch the paella cook, with any tapas served first.
- We serve from the pan, then clear our cooking area away.
How to prepare
- Tell us when you want to eat
- Let us know who to talk to on the day
- Leave space around the cooking area

DIY paella versus live catering
You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but you will still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.

About the dishes

Black rice
Arroz negro is coloured and flavoured with squid ink, and is normally served with alioli. It makes a dramatic second seafood pan.
