Choosing a paella caterer

About our paella catering in Cliddesden

You can keep it simple or build a full menu: paella on its own, or with canapés, table tapas, desserts and sangria. We’ll recommend what fits your event. For company summer parties and birthday celebrations, we’ll put together a menu of vegetable paella, paella Valenciana and vegan paella and more.

In a hamlet or village like Cliddesden, your own garden or a neighbour’s field can make a wonderful venue. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. We cook every pan in full view of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.

What paella catering costs

We’ll give you a clear, itemised quote. What affects it most:

  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • Guest numbers

Live paella frequently compares well with a sit-down meal, as there is no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. Ask us for a quote.

Details that help

To speed things up, tell us:

  • Anything your venue supplies
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • The courses you’d like

We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. You can send us your details through our quote form.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

If you want something different from the usual buffet or roast, live paella brings colour, aroma and a touch of Spain. Travel, parking and access can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Everything is confirmed in writing.

Why book with us

  • Served hot, straight from the pan
  • Food that becomes part of the entertainment
  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
  • We cover Cliddesden and the whole of Hampshire

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

How the day works

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, which we agree with you beforehand. Around midsummer it stays light in Cliddesden until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening events are normally served in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 4:00pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We arrive in good time to set up.
  4. The sofrito, stock and rice go in, and guests gather to watch.
  5. We serve hot from the pan and clear our cooking area.

Preparing for the day

Questions from Cliddesden

How far is Cliddesden from London?

About 47 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.

Can you cook in Hackwood Park?

Only if the landowner, normally the council, allows it. Check with them, and we will provide our paperwork.

What if the weather’s bad?

We need a covered spot, like a gazebo or open-sided marquee. We plan for rain with you in advance.

How long does the paella take?

It depends on the menu and numbers. We’ll agree arrival, cooking and serving times with you so the paella is ready when you want it.

What do you need at the venue?

Not a lot: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. Send us a picture if you’re not sure.

Do you cook inside?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Courtyards, doorways and terraces often work.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, sangria. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.

What about pudding?

Yes, Spanish desserts can be added. Let us know if you’d like one in your enquiry.

The menu, dish by dish

Mixed paella

Mixed paella brings meat and seafood together, and it’s frequently the first pan to empty.

Black rice

Squid ink rice is bold and savoury.
