  • The paellas you choose

The cost per head normally falls as numbers rise, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

Keep it simple, or go all out: paella on its own, or with canapés, table tapas, desserts and sangria. We’ll suggest what suits your event. On the menu are black rice, paella Valenciana and vegetable paella, and typical bookings are for weddings, from canapés to evening food and big birthdays.

In a rural place like Church Crookham, the setting does a lot of the work: a paella cooking in a garden or field feels right at home. Tell us about access and the ground. We cook every pan in full view of your guests, so the food is hot, fresh and part of the occasion.

Church Crookham: venues, travel and local tips

Church Crookham is about 1 mile south-east of Fleet, in Hampshire. Wherever your event is in the GU52 area, we can cook for your guests. Church Crookham is one of 683 towns and villages in Hampshire where we cook. Our events stretch from Church Crookham to Guildford (11 miles away).

Nearby historic houses include Farnham Castle (3.5 miles south). Historic venues frequently limit cooking, so ask early if you’re booking one. If you are celebrating after a service at a church like Fleet Spiritualist Church, live paella at a garden or venue nearby works well.

Paella catering in GU52 and GU51 is planned around your venue. Streets in the area include New Road, Grove Road and Gravel Road, and we can cook for an event on any of them. The menu, dish by dish

Paella Valenciana

The original paella from Valencia is a countryside dish of chicken and vegetables, not seafood. It is frequently the most popular pan at an event.

Black rice

Arroz negro is coloured and flavoured with squid ink, and is generally served with alioli. It is a striking addition to a seafood menu.

Your questions about paella catering in Church Crookham

We’re having a ceremony at Fleet Spiritualist Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking usually happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

How far is Church Crookham from London?

About 35 miles from central London, and well within our area.

How long does the paella take?

That depends on your menu and numbers. We agree the timings in advance.

Can you supply plates?

We can. Let us know what you have, and we will quote for the rest.

How does live paella catering work?

We arrive with pans, burners and ingredients, cook in front of your guests, and serve when you are ready to eat.

What does paella catering cost?

We quote for each event, so you only pay for what you need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas for a clear quote.

Do you bring everything you need?

We bring the pans, burners and ingredients. You just need a suitable spot and access.

Is paella a full meal?

Paella is a meal in itself. Tapas and desserts can be added if you like.

Organising for someone else?

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we’ll explain how it works. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

Live paella or other catering?

With a barbecue, food comes in waves. Paella is cooked as one big dish and served together. The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, along with staff, extras and travel. Every event gets its own quote.

Why Church Crookham hosts choose us

  • Paella cooked from scratch on site
  • Starters and desserts to complete the menu

  • Fast service from the pan

Diets, allergies and planning

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Request clear labels at the serving table
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Have seats for most of your guests
  • Send allergies to us in writing

The rice takes about 20 minutes once it goes in, so we time it carefully. If plans change, tell us and we will adjust.

Finish with churros, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago, or serve your own cake.

What we need at the venue

Live paella is cooked over gas burners in large pans, so the cooking area needs a little planning. These are the things we check:

  • Access for unloading near the cooking spot
  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area
  • Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and we will say what we think before you book.

Menu ideas

  • Vegetable paella

  • Vegan paella

DIY paella versus live catering

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, keep the stock hot, and do not stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

How it works

Watching it cook is half the fun. Onion, garlic, peppers and tomato go in first, then the stock and saffron, then the rice, which cooks without stirring. Evenings in Church Crookham stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm; after dark, the cooking and serving areas need good lighting.

  1. We start with a few details about your event.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a clear quote.
  3. Timings, access and the cooking area are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day, we set up and cook in front of your guests.
  5. It’s served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

Preparing for the day

  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
