Live paella catering in Charney Bassett

Paella catering for your event in Charney Bassett

Two or three pans side by side cover every guest: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Every pan is cooked on its own, so diets are easy to manage. For community events and fairs and big birthdays, we’ll put together a menu of vegetable paella, vegan paella and black rice and more.

For a rural spot like Charney Bassett, the countryside is part of the appeal: a giant pan in a garden or field fits perfectly. Let us know about access and ground conditions. The paella is served straight from the pan, so it’s hot and generous, and service is quick once it is ready.

How the day works

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up the pans and burners, and get on with cooking and serving. Evenings in Charney Bassett stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm; once it is dark, we need light to cook and serve by.

  1. You share your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We arrive in good time to set up.
  4. The sofrito, stock and rice go in, and guests gather to watch.
  5. Service is straight from the pan, then we pack down.

Before we arrive

  • Leave space around the cooking area
  • Choose a level spot for the cooking area
  • Check the venue allows live cooking

DIY paella versus live catering

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Prices and what affects them

We will give you a clear, itemised quote. The main things that affect it are:

  • How long we’re needed on site
  • How many courses
  • Whether you need crockery
  • How many guests are eating

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.

Getting an accurate quote

Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:

  • Which courses you have in mind
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • The venue or postcode

Send us the date, your venue or OX12 postcode and guest numbers, plus any dietary needs, and you’ll get a menu idea and a price. Just send us your details through our quote form.

Catering for every guest

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Put allergy details in writing
  • Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Ask about diets and allergies on your invitation or RSVP
  • Pick a mix of paellas to cover every diet

A short rest after cooking helps, which is when we usually call guests over.

Crockery, cutlery and waiting staff are available if your venue does not provide them.
