Paella catering for your event in Boarhunt

A couple of different pans covers everyone: meat, seafood and vegetarian or vegan paellas. Every pan is cooked on its own, so diets are easy to manage. On the menu are chicken and chorizo paella, vegetable paella and vegan paella, and we’re frequently booked for naming days and family parties and wedding breakfasts and evening food.

For a rural spot like Boarhunt, the countryside is part of the appeal: a paella cooking in a garden or field feels right at home. Let us know about access and ground conditions. You’ll know exactly what’s included before you book: the menu, the staff and any extras, with no surprises on the day.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

With a barbecue, food comes in waves. Paella is cooked as one big dish and served together. Live paella pricing depends on the event. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. We itemise everything in your quote.

Why Boarhunt hosts choose us

  • No hidden extras in your quote
  • Sangria, plus bar staff for your own drinks
  • Live cooking, not reheated food
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan

About the dishes

Black rice

Black rice looks dramatic and tastes of the sea.

Paella Valenciana

In Valencia, the recipe is fiercely debated. The classic version is chicken, green beans and butter beans with saffron.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. We suggest:

  • Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Mention any other courses or food
  • Collect dietary needs with your RSVPs
  • Request clear labels at the serving table

Paella is best eaten as soon as it’s ready, so we serve when guests are ready.

Bread, salad and lemon wedges make the meal go further.

Step by step

When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so we time everything to your schedule. Evenings in Boarhunt stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm; once it’s dark, we need light to cook and serve by.

  1. We start with a few details about your event.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a clear quote.
  3. Timings, access and the cooking area are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day, we set up and cook in front of your guests.
  5. We serve from the pan, then pack down.

  • Summer garden parties

12 questions to ask before you book

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. We take care of all of it.

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Nicholas?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you have a kids’ option?

Yes. Children frequently love a simple chicken paella. Include children in your numbers.

How much space do you need?

A level space for the pans, burners and a serving table, in the open air or a ventilated covered area, and the venue’s permission for live cooking.

Is halal food available?

Yes, on request. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and we will cook a separate pan.

Do we need to provide equipment?

Pans, burners and ingredients all come with us. You just need a suitable spot and access.
