How our paella catering works in Berinsfield

We cook every paella from scratch on the day, beginning with a sofrito of onion, garlic, peppers and tomato, then the stock, saffron and rice. Typical bookings include wedding breakfasts and evening food and office lunches and staff parties, serving vegetable paella, seafood paella and black rice.

In a rural place like Berinsfield, the setting does a lot of the work: a giant pan in a garden or field fits perfectly. Let us know about access and ground conditions. Timings are planned around your event, so the paella is ready when you want to eat.

How we price paella catering

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • The number of people
  • Waiting and bar staff
  • The length of service

Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. Ask us for a quote.

What to tell us

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • What the venue already provides
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • Diets and allergies you know about

Still deciding on the menu? That is fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we’ll make suggestions. To start, send us your details through our quote form.

What’s in the pans

Seafood paella

Prawns, mussels and squid in a rich fish stock, finished with lemon wedges. It’s typically the most photographed pan.

Mixed paella

Chicken and seafood together.

Paella compared with other options

Plated meals need a kitchen and a bigger team. Live paella needs only a level, ventilated spot and permission to cook, and it’s entertaining too. Live paella pricing depends on the event. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. We itemise everything in your quote.

Why us?

Common questions in Berinsfield

Can you cater a reception after a service at Saint Mary and Saint Berin?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Is Berinsfield too small for live paella?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Can you cook in the rain?

A covered, ventilated spot keeps us cooking in the rain. We will make a plan B with you.

Are premium seafood options available?

Tell us your preferences and we will suggest seafood options to suit your menu and budget. Premium options are available.

Do you have a kids’ option?

Children are welcome. Let us know numbers and ages, and we will plan a pan with them in mind.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes, and they’re popular with everyone. Each is cooked separately, with its own stock and utensils.

What does paella catering cost?

The price depends on numbers, menu, courses, staff and travel. Tell us about your event and we will send a quote.

Can you feed plenty of people?

Very much so. We plan the number of pans and serving points around your numbers.

How it works

We work to your timings. If speeches run late or the photos take longer, we hold the paella at the right stage so it is still served fresh. Around midsummer it stays light in Berinsfield until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. You tell us the date, venue, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We put together a menu and a clear quote.
  3. We arrive early, set up the cooking area and start the stock.
  4. The paella cooks in front of your guests, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan and clear our area when service ends.

Preparing for the day

  • Ensure we can park close by to unload
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Leave space around the cooking area

Dietary needs and planning tips

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:

  • Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Choose two or three paellas so every guest has a choice
  • Count adults and children separately
  • Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down

Once everyone is fed, we clear our cooking area, quietly and quickly.

Finish with churros, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago.
