Paella catering in Baybridge, made fresh on the day

Watching it cook is part of the experience. Guests gather round as the sofrito sizzles and the saffron colours the rice, and the aroma does the rest. Whether it’s staff parties and work lunches and retirement and leaving parties, we can cook seafood paella, black rice and mixed paella and more.

For a rural spot like Baybridge, the countryside is part of the appeal: a giant pan in a garden or field fits perfectly. Tell us about access and the ground. The paella is served straight from the pan, so it’s hot and generous, and service is quick once it is ready.

Catering for every guest

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:

  • Let us know if anyone has coeliac disease
  • Confirm allergies by email
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Ensure most guests can sit to eat

After service, we pack down our cooking area.

Need plates or staff? We can provide them.

The process

Here’s how the day normally runs: we arrive, set up and start cooking, your guests watch the rice cook, and we serve straight from the pan at the agreed time. Evenings in Baybridge stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm; once it is dark, we need light to cook and serve by.

  1. Get in touch with the basics: when, where and how many.
  2. We come back with paellas to suit your guests, plus any extras.
  3. A week or so before, we confirm the plan.
  4. We set up, cook from scratch and keep an eye on your timings.
  5. Guests are served from the pan, and our area is cleared afterwards.

Preparing for the day

  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking

Baybridge: your questions answered

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Andrew?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is usually elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

Which station should guests use for Baybridge?

The closest is Shawford station, roughly 3.5 miles away.

Which areas do you serve?

We cater across London and the South East, Hampshire included. See all areas.

How long does the paella take?

It depends on the menu and numbers. We agree the timings in advance so the paella is ready when you want it.

Can paella be the only main course?

It is a full meal on its own. Tapas and desserts can be added if you like.

Do you cater for young children?

Children are welcome. Let us know numbers and ages, and we’ll plan for them.

Do you cook inside?

Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

Can you supply plates?

We can. Tell us what your venue provides and we’ll include the rest in the quote.

A closer look at the menu

Vegetable and vegan paella

Seasonal vegetables on a rich sofrito base make a paella that stands on its own. For vegans, the stock is plant-based.

Mixed paella

A mix of chicken and seafood, and a popular all-rounder.

Should I cook it myself?

Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

For event organisers in Baybridge

Events in public spaces, like parks, generally need permission. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

For big numbers, we plan pans and serving points to keep queues short, so everyone eats promptly. Tell us how long you have for food.

Occasions we cook for in Baybridge

Paella is one of the few dishes that handles mixed diets easily, thanks to separate pans for each version. Everyone gets the same kind of meal.

If you’re planning any of these, we can help:

  • Leaving dos and retirements
  • Garden get-togethers
  • Wedding breakfasts and evening food
  • Engagement and anniversary parties

For a christening or wedding at a church such as Church of St Andrew, a paella lunch or reception nearby is an easy way to feed everyone.

Questions to ask before booking

  • Exactly what’s included in the price
  • The venue requirements
  • Whether travel is included
  • Whether crockery, cutlery and napkins are included

Our caterer checklist

Live paella or other catering?

Vans serve one order at a time. A big pan serves many guests fast, so everyone can eat at the same time. Larger events generally cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

Why us?

  • Drinks service on request
  • Plates, cutlery and waiting staff available
  • Hot food served quickly from the pan
  • Paella cooked from scratch on site
