How our paella catering works in Ash Green

Paella was made for feeding a crowd: cooked in the open in a big, shallow pan and shared straight from it. That is what we bring to events in Ash Green. For fairs, fêtes and festivals and anniversary celebrations, we will put together a menu of seafood paella, vegetable paella and paella Valenciana for your guests.

In a rural place like Ash Green, the setting does plenty of the work: a giant pan in a garden or field fits perfectly. Let us know about access and ground conditions. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so one booking can cover the whole menu.

Our caterer checklist

How the day works

Expect a friendly, organised team. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up the pans and burners, and get on with cooking and serving. In Ash Green, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. First, tell us about your event.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a clear quote.
  3. Timings, access and the cooking area are agreed in advance.
  4. We cook live on the day while guests watch.
  5. It’s served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

Getting ready for the day

  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook
  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Arrange parking near the cooking spot

FAQs for Ash Green

Do you come out to small places like Ash Green?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Which station should guests use for Ash Green?

The closest is Ash station, roughly 0.6 miles away.

Which paellas suit our guests?

Most events choose two or three: a mixed or chicken paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Our menu lists the options.

Do you cook inside?

Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

Can we choose the seafood?

We’ll suggest seafood to suit your menu and budget. Premium shellfish can be added.

How many different paellas?

Two or three is usual: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We’ll help you decide the split.

Is paella enough as a main?

It’s a full meal on its own. Many hosts add tapas first or dessert after.

What about pudding?

Yes. Churros, crema catalana and tarta de Santiago are popular choices, or you can serve your own cake.

Planners, venues and businesses

Hosting a party at home? Send a photo of the space and tell us about parking, and we will let you know if live paella is a good fit.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

DIY paella versus live catering

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.

Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. We are happy to give you a quote to compare.

How we price paella catering

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Parking and unloading
  • Whether you need crockery

Live paella pricing depends on the event. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. We itemise everything in your quote.

Getting an accurate quote

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • The courses you’d like
  • A photo of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Roughly how many adults and children

Every event is quoted individually, so the price fits what you actually want. To ask for one, fill in our quote form.

Live paella or other catering?

With a barbecue, food comes in waves. Paella is cooked as one big dish and served together. Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so the menu you choose affects the price. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

What you get with us

  • Separate pans for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests
  • Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them
  • We cover Ash Green and the whole of Surrey
  • A quote that spells everything out

Planning for every diet

We take diets and allergies seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down
  • Make sure each pan is labelled
  • Collect dietary needs with your RSVPs
  • Mention any other courses or food

Paella is at its best straight from the pan, so we plan service for when guests are ready to eat.

Bread, salad and lemon go well alongside and suit guests who are not big rice eaters.
