Whitfield questions
Can you cook in Old Park Hill?
Only with permission from the park’s owner, usually the council. Ask them first, and we will send any information they need.
What about events near the coast?
Yes, as long as we can shelter from the wind. Wind is the main issue on the coast, so we plan shelter.
What happens if it rains?
A covered, ventilated spot keeps us cooking in the rain. We will talk it through before the day.
How soon do we need to book?
As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Even if it is short notice, it’s worth asking.
Can you cater for children?
Yes, children are easy to cater for. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we’ll plan for them.
Do you do crew catering?
We can. We can cook for crew, volunteers or a hospitality area as well as, or instead of, a public stall.
Do you offer halal options?
Yes. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in a separate pan.
How many paellas should we have?
Two or three is usual: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We will suggest a split based on your guests.
Prices and what affects them
The price comes down to a few factors:
- Waiting and bar staff
- Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
- Guest numbers
- How long we’re needed on site
Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you can choose exactly what you need.
Details that help
The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Try to include:
- Whether the venue has crockery or staff
- The venue or postcode
- A picture of the space, if you can
- Approximate guest numbers, including children
A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: venue, timings, courses and extras. To send your details, fill in our quote form.
Paella compared with other options
If you want a trader that adds atmosphere, a paella pan delivers. Larger events normally cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Step by step
When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so the timing is planned around your event. At midsummer, events in Whitfield stay light until about 9:15pm, so evening trading normally finishes in daylight in high summer. Winter markets, dark by about 3:50pm, need a well-lit pitch.
- It starts with your event details and pitch information.
- We confirm what we will serve, our pitch needs and any paperwork.
- We set up at the agreed time.
- We cook in front of the crowd and serve from the pan all event.
- At the end, we clear our pitch.
