Dishes our guests love

Giant paella pans

It’s the giant pan people come to see.

Seafood paella

Prawns, mussels and squid.

Step by step

We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you are free to enjoy your event. Any tapas or canapés are served first as the rice is cooking. At midsummer, events in Upper Green stay light until about 9:25pm, which helps evening trading. Winter markets, dark by about 4:00pm, need a well-lit pitch.

  1. Organisers send us the event details, dates and pitch information.
  2. You get our menu, pitch requirements and paperwork.
  3. We arrive at the agreed time to set up the pitch.
  4. We cook in front of the crowd and serve from the pan all event.
  5. We clear the pitch and leave it clean.

How to prepare

  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Ensure the spot is clear of anything flammable
  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather

Planning help

What festival paella catering costs

Your quote will be clear and itemised. What affects it most:

  • How many courses
  • Timings and hours
  • The number of people
  • How many staff you need

Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so your choice of paellas affects the total. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.

What to tell us

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Try to include:

  • Anything your venue supplies
  • The venue or postcode
  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • Which courses you have in mind

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will check availability at the same time.

For planners, venues and organisers

If you are organising for someone else, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

For big numbers, we plan pans and serving points to keep queues short, so guests are fed quickly. Tell us how long you have for food.

Paella compared with other options

Burger and hot dog stalls are familiar but similar. Paella adds something different in a food line-up. Travel, parking and access can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed before booking.

Why choose Love Paella in Upper Green

  • Live cooking, not reheated food
  • Separate pans for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests
  • A quote that spells everything out
  • Drinks service on request

DIY paella versus live catering

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.
