Should I cook it myself?
Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.
Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.
Catering for every guest
Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Here’s how you can help:
- Put picnic tables near the traders
- Make allergen information visible at every stall
- Ask about peak-time capacity
- Put all trader information in one pack
Our pitch is kept tidy and safe throughout the day.
Larger pans for peak times.
Live paella or other catering?
Burger and hot dog stalls are familiar but similar. Paella adds something different. Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you only pay for what you want.

Iffley questions
Is Iffley close to London?
Roughly 51 miles from the centre of London, and we cover it as standard.
Do you trade at school fairs around Iffley?
Yes, with the school’s permission. Tell us the date and pitch details.
Can you do gluten-free paella?
Yes, on request. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we make a separate gluten-free pan.
Do you clear up afterwards?
We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.
How long do you need on site?
We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, and we time it to your schedule.
What do you need at the venue?
Level ground for the burners, pans and a table, outdoors or in a marquee or well-ventilated area, plus the venue’s agreement to cooking.
Should we have more than one paella?
Most events have two or three: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We will help you decide the split.
Where do you cater?
London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight.
Space, weather and the venue
Most gardens and venues can host live paella, but there are a few things to check:
- A pitch big enough for the pans, burners and serving table
- Trader information and site rules
- Spacing from tents and other structures
If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and we will say what we think.
What we offer

Step by step
A typical event goes like this: we arrive, set up and start cooking, the rice cooks in front of your guests, and it is served hot from the pan when you’re ready to eat. Summer events in Iffley have daylight until about 9:25pm at midsummer and about 7:10pm by late September, so evening trading normally finishes in daylight in high summer. Winter markets, dark by about 3:55pm, need a well-lit pitch.
- Tell us about the event, the crowd and the pitch.
- You get our stall menu and what we need on site.
- We send the documents the event asks for.
- We time the first pans for the lunchtime rush.
- At close, we pack down and tidy up.
Preparing for the day
- Let us know the timings for the day
- Choose a level spot for the cooking area
- Make sure we can park close by to unload
