How our festival paella catering works in Fernhurst

Because paella is cooked in big batches, it handles lunchtime rushes well. Portions are served in seconds. Popular choices include giant-pan paella, churros and seafood paella, and we are regularly asked to cater county and country shows and summer fairs and fêtes.

For a village fête or field event near Fernhurst, we can bring hot food to a rural site. Tell us about the ground and access. Each paella is cooked from scratch on the day, not reheated, and served as soon as it’s ready.

Organising for someone else?

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Fernhurst? Live paella feeds a crowd quickly and suits most diets. Tell us about the event and we’ll suggest a menu.

Events in public spaces, like parks, generally need permission. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

The menu, dish by dish

Chicken & chorizo paella

A hearty, smoky pan, popular with families.

Giant paella pans

The huge pan is the star.

Should I cook it myself?

Some hosts like to cook themselves. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

How it works

When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so the timing is planned around your event. Summer events in Fernhurst have daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer and about 7:05pm by late September, so evening trading normally finishes in daylight in high summer. For winter markets, dark by about 4:00pm, the pitch needs lighting.

  1. We check your dates.
  2. We agree menu and pitch.
  3. Burners and pans go up.
  4. The first pans are ready as visitors arrive.
  5. We serve, then pack down.

What affects the price in Fernhurst

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Guest numbers
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Travel, parking and access
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert

Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.

What to tell us

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:

  • The date and rough timings
  • A photo of the space, if you can
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff

We quote for each event separately, so you only pay for what you need. For a quote, use our quote form.

Common questions in Fernhurst

Is Fernhurst close to London?

About 41 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.

Do you come out to small places like Fernhurst?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Will there be enough food?

We plan quantities from your guest numbers, timings and other courses, with a little extra built in. Give us accurate numbers for the best result.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

Yes, on request. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.

What space do you need to cook?

Less than you might think: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. Send us a picture if you are not sure.

What areas do you cover?

London and South East England: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight.

How soon do we need to book?

The sooner the better. Popular dates book up first, so get in touch early.

Who clears up?

We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.
