About our festival paella catering in Custom House
Paella in a bowl is perfect festival food, standing up or sitting on the grass. We’re often asked to cater agricultural and county shows and music and food festivals, with seafood paella, vegan paella and giant-pan paella.
Events in Custom House range from street parties and school fairs to markets and festivals. Public spaces normally need council permission, and we’ll provide what the organiser asks for. We serve straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and service is quick once it is ready.

Why live cooking beats a buffet
Hot-cabinet food lacks theatre. A huge pan cooking in view sells itself. Larger events normally cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.
Why book with us
- Hot food served quickly from the pan
- Sangria, plus bar staff for your own drinks
- Starters and desserts to complete the menu
- Food that becomes part of the entertainment

FAQs for Custom House
Is parking a problem for events in Custom House?
London parking needs planning: let us know about permits or off-street space. We’ll work around it.
What’s the nearest station to Custom House for guests?
Custom House station, in Custom House itself.
Is the paella cooked on site?
Yes, always. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, where your guests can watch.
What documents can you send?
Tell us what the event needs and we’ll send it with our application.
Where do you cater?
London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including Custom House.
Is halal food available?
Yes, we do. Halal paella is cooked with halal chicken and no pork or alcohol, in a separate pan.
What happens if it rains?
A covered, ventilated spot keeps us cooking in the rain. We will talk it through before the day.
Can you do gluten-free paella?
We can cook a gluten-free paella in its own pan. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can plan it carefully.
What festival paella catering costs
We will give you a clear, itemised quote. What affects it most:
- Distance and access to the venue
- How long we are needed on site
- Guest numbers
- The paellas you choose
Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: staff, crockery, bread and salads, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.
What we need to know
Good planning starts with a few facts. Try to include:
- A picture of the space, if you can
- Diets and allergies you know about
- Where the event is
- Which courses you have in mind
Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will check availability at the same time.
Should I cook it myself?
DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.
Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.
About the dishes
Chicken & chorizo paella
A crowd-pleaser for meat eaters.
Seafood paella
The seafood pan is a festival favourite.
Step by step
It’s a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, set up our cooking area, and get on with cooking and serving. At midsummer, events in Custom House stay light until about 9:20pm, so evening trading generally finishes in daylight in high summer. Winter markets, dark by about 3:55pm, need a well-lit pitch.
- Tell us about the event, the crowd and the pitch.
- You get our stall menu and what we need on site.
- Paperwork goes over in good time.
- On the day, the pans are on before the busiest hours.
- When trading ends, the pitch is cleared and left clean.
Getting ready for the day
- Get the venue’s permission for cooking
- Name one person we can ask on the day
- Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
