Prices and what affects them
Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:
- How many staff you need
- The paellas you choose
- Timings and hours
- Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
Got a budget? Let us know, and we will suggest a menu to match. Even a simple menu can be a feast.
What to tell us
You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but it helps to know:
- The venue or postcode
- Any dietary needs and allergies
- Expected numbers
- The date and time of the event
Not sure what you need yet? That’s fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we’ll make suggestions. To start, send us your details through our quote form.
Planning the cooking area
No two venues are the same, so we’ll ask about yours before we confirm. Generally, we look for:
- Vehicle access to the pitch at set-up and break-down

Buckland events: pitches and permissions
Buckland is about 5 miles east of Aylesbury, in Buckinghamshire. From the centre of Buckland to the outskirts, we offer the same service: live cooking, separate pans for every diet and a clear price. We cover all 263 towns and villages across Buckinghamshire. We cook right across the region, from Buckland to Milton Keynes (about 16 miles away).
For visitors coming by rail, the nearest station is Wendover station, about 3.2 miles south-west. For a church fête or fundraiser, at a church such as Church of All Saints, a paella stall adds a hot meal to the cakes and tombola. Within about 4 miles is the Chilterns National Landscape, where events may have extra rules on vehicles and waste; we work to the site rules.
Anywhere in HP22, we can cook for your guests. From Peggs Lane and New Road or a nearby road, we can cook there. We also cook at events in Aston Clinton (1 mile west), Broughton (3 miles north-west) and Bedgrove (3 miles west). Within a short drive, we also cover Aylesbury (5 miles west), High Wycombe (12 miles south), Chesham (8 miles south-east), Amersham (10 miles south-east), Beaconsfield (14 miles south) and Chalfont St Peter (15 miles south-east).
Other landmarks nearby include Trenchard Museum (1.9 miles south) and Stoke Mandeville Hospital (3.8 miles west). Open spaces near Buckland include Haddington Hill and Dancersend.
Organising for someone else?
If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We will provide any information the landowner or council asks for.
Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.
Cook it yourself or book a caterer?
For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles separate pans for each diet.
Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Buckland: your questions answered
What’s the nearest station to Buckland for guests?
Wendover station, about 3.2 miles south-west of the centre.
Can you cook at venues in the Chilterns National Landscape?
Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and cooking, so check with yours. We will follow the site rules.
Can you supply plates?
Yes, if you need them. Let us know what you have, and we’ll quote for the rest.
Will there be enough food?
Quantities depend on numbers, timing and courses, with a sensible margin. Give us accurate numbers for the best result.
Can you do gluten-free paella?
We can cook a gluten-free paella in its own pan. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we take the right care.
Can we add tapas or canapés?
Yes, and it’s a popular combination. Tapas first, paella to follow.
Can you cook in the rain?
A covered, ventilated spot keeps us cooking in the rain. We will make a plan B with you.
What documents can you send?
Tell us what the event needs and we will send it with our application.
How the day works
Once the rice is in, we do not stir it. That is how the grains cook evenly and the toasted base, the socarrat, forms. The smell generally draws people over. Evening events in Buckland have light until about 9:25pm at midsummer; after dark, we need a lit pitch.
- You send us the event, dates and pitch details.
- We confirm our menu, pitch needs and documents.
- We set up at the agreed time.
- The paella cooks in full view, and we serve from the pan through the event.
- At the end, we clear our pitch.
How to prepare
- Name one person we can ask on the day
- Ensure we can park close by to unload
- Let us know the timings for the day
How to get a price
Send us the date, your venue or HP22 postcode and guest numbers, plus any dietary needs, and we will reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. Just send us your details through our quote form.
