Should I cook it myself?

Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. We take care of all of it.

Corporate paella catering in Luxted, cooked live

Live cooking gets people out of their usual groups, which is exactly what a team event is for. We cook canapé tapas, paella lunches and Spanish desserts, and we’re often booked for end-of-year celebrations and product launches and open days.

Around Luxted, office events tend to use courtyards, terraces and car parks. Facilities teams normally need to approve live cooking, and loading needs planning. We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in a separate pan.

How to compare caterers

For planners, venues and organisers

For larger events, we plan the number of pans and serving points around your timings, so everyone eats promptly. Tell us how long you have for food.

If you are booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we will explain how it works. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Planning for every diet

Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Collect dietary needs when people sign up
  • Get facilities approval early
  • Share the timings for food
  • Plan shade and seating for outdoor events

Service is timed to your schedule, whether that’s a lunch break or an evening party.

Sangria and bar staff for drinks you provide.

Prices and what affects them

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Travel, parking and access
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • The number of people

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, bread and salads, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.

What to tell us

To speed things up, tell us:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • The venue or postcode
  • What the venue already provides
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: venue, timings, courses and extras. When you are ready, send us your details through our quote form.

FAQs for Luxted

What about parking in Luxted?

It can be, so tell us about parking bays, permits or a driveway. We will plan unloading around it.

Can you cook at venues in the Kent Downs National Landscape?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and cooking, so check with yours. We will follow the site rules.

What if the weather’s bad?

Rain doesn’t stop us, as long as there is a ventilated cover. We’ll talk it through before the day.

Should we have more than one paella?

Two or three covers most guests. Tell us about your guests’ diets and we’ll suggest the mix.

How quickly can you serve a big group?

Yes. Paella is served straight from the pan, and we plan pans and serving points around your timings.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

We can, if you tell us in advance. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.

Do you work in winter?

Yes, where the venue has a covered, ventilated space to cook. December dates go fast.

Can you cook indoors?

Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

Planning the cooking area

Every venue is different, so we will ask about yours when you get in touch. Generally, we look for:

  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area
  • Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot
  • Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls

Luxted is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking can be tight: tell us about parking bays, permits or a driveway.

How it works

Serving is fast: the paella goes straight from the pan to the plate, so even a long queue moves. When service is finished, we pack down. After-work summer parties in Luxted have daylight until about 9:20pm in late June and 7:05pm in late September; for winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting.

  1. We start with your date, venue, headcount, timings and diets.
  2. We confirm a menu and a quote, with any paperwork your venue needs.
  3. We arrange access and timings with your facilities team or venue.
  4. On the day we set up, cook live and serve at the agreed time.
  5. Afterwards, our area is cleared and left clean.
