Wedding paella catering for Worth Abbey events

Wedding paella catering in Worth Abbey, made fresh on the day

A wedding paella is food and entertainment at once. Guests drift over to watch the pans while the photos are being taken, and the meal arrives hot and generous. Popular choices include Spanish desserts, evening paella and a paella wedding breakfast, and we are regularly asked to cater weddings in a marquee or garden and vow renewals and civil ceremonies.

A wedding in a small place like Worth Abbey often means a field, a barn or a family garden. That’s exactly where live paella shines: no kitchen, just a level, sheltered spot. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. Everything is cooked from scratch at your wedding, not reheated, and served as soon as it is ready.

How it works

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, which we agree with you beforehand. At midsummer, sunset in Worth Abbey is about 9:20pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. Sunset is around 8:50pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September.

  1. Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan your menu course by course.
  3. Timings are agreed with your venue.
  4. We cook live on the day and serve each course.
  5. We clear our area; staff stay as booked.

Before we arrive

  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
  • Tell us where to park and unload

Dishes our guests love

Paella wedding breakfast

Paellas for every guest, served straight from the pan.

Desserts

Churros with chocolate, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago, or your cake as dessert.

Diets, allergies and planning

With a little notice, every diet is easy. We suggest:

  • Tell us how many evening guests to expect
  • Send us the running order and speech times
  • Confirm the venue’s catering rules early
  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP cards

Fresh pans can be cooked for evening guests, typically timed after the first dance.

Finish with Spanish desserts or your cake.

Prices and what affects them

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • The paellas you choose
  • The length of service
  • Guest numbers
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. Our quotes spell it all out.

Details that help

When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Anything your venue supplies

We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually want. For a quote, fill in our quote form.

Space, weather and the venue

Before the day, we’ll agree where we cook. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • A cooking spot outside the marquee, not inside it
  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area
  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and we will say what we think.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

A hog roast is popular at weddings, but harder for vegetarian, vegan and halal guests. Paella covers them with separate pans. Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you only pay for what you want.
