Live wedding paella catering in Great Burgh

Wedding paella catering for your wedding in Great Burgh

At a wedding, paella is both the meal and a bit of a show. Guests drift over to watch the pans while the photos are being taken, and the meal arrives hot and generous. We cook table tapas, canapé tapas and Spanish desserts, and we are regularly asked to cater receptions after an intimate ceremony and evening food for extra guests.

In Great Burgh, a local ceremony and a marquee reception is a lovely, personal choice. Paella cooked on the lawn suits that perfectly. Tell us about access to the field or garden. Everything is cooked from scratch at your wedding, never made in advance and reheated, and served the moment it is ready.

Space, weather and the venue

Safety and good cooking both depend on the spot we use. We need:

  • Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable
  • Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before you book.

What happens on the day

On the day, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so the timing is planned around your event. For a summer wedding in Great Burgh, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, which means evening paella is normally served in daylight in June and July. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it’s dark by about 3:55pm.

  1. We start with your date, venue, numbers and ideas.
  2. We plan a menu with you, course by course, and confirm a quote.
  3. Timings are agreed with you and the venue, around speeches and photos.
  4. On the day, we set up, cook in front of your guests and serve each course.
  5. We pack down our cooking area, with staff staying as long as agreed.
