Wedding paella catering in Egham Hythe, made fresh on the day

A wedding paella is food and entertainment at once. Guests wander over to watch while the photos are taken, and the meal arrives hot and generous. We cook table tapas, Spanish desserts and evening paella, and we are regularly asked to cater food for evening guests and weddings in a marquee or garden.

Weddings in a place like Egham Hythe frequently feel personal: a local church, then a marquee in a garden or field. Paella cooked on the lawn suits that perfectly. Let us know about access for the van. You can add tapas, desserts, sangria, bar staff and waiting staff, so the whole menu comes from one caterer.

How to compare caterers

Before you choose a spot

No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space when you contact us. Generally, we look for:

  • Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable
  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
  • Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise before booking.

Egham Hythe: your questions answered

Could we have live paella in Penton Park?

Only if the landowner, generally the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we will send any information they need.

What’s the nearest station to Egham Hythe for guests?

Egham station, about 1 mile west of the centre.

Is the paella gluten-free?

A gluten-free pan is no problem. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we take the right care.

What happens if it rains?

Rain doesn’t stop us, as long as there’s a ventilated cover. We’ll make a plan B with you.

Do you cater in Egham Hythe?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, and Egham Hythe is within our area. To check your date, fill in our quote form.

Do you cook inside?

Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

Can you cater for children?

Yes, children are easy to cater for. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will plan a pan with them in mind.

Do you offer halal options?

Yes, we do. Halal paella is cooked with halal chicken and no pork or alcohol, in its own pan.

Organising for someone else?

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

DIY paella versus live catering

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

Diets, allergies and planning

With a little notice, every diet is easy. Our advice:

  • Collect dietary needs on the RSVP
  • Tell us how many evening guests to expect
  • Send us the running order and speech times
  • Pick a serving style

We clear our cooking area away afterwards; any staff stay as long as agreed.

Canapé tapas with the drinks reception keep guests going during photos.

Is live paella right for your wedding?

If you are weighing up paella against a traditional menu, consider your venue, diets and the style you want. Tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are optional extras, so you only pay for what you want.

The process

We cook over gas burners in wide, shallow pans. We need a level, ventilated spot, which we agree with you beforehand. In Egham Hythe, midsummer sunset is about 9:20pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:05pm, which means evening paella is usually served in daylight in June and July. For autumn and winter weddings, when it is dark by about 3:55pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.

  1. We start with your date, venue, numbers and ideas.
  2. Together we plan each course and confirm the price.
  3. We fit our timings around your speeches, photos and venue.
  4. We cook live on the day and serve every course on cue.
  5. Afterwards we clear our area; any staff you’ve booked stay as planned.

Preparing for the day

  • Get the venue’s permission for cooking
  • Give us a contact for the day
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook
