Live wedding paella catering in Battramsley

How our wedding paella catering works in Battramsley

Mixed diets are easy at a paella wedding: each paella has its own pan, so every guest gets a proper hot main. We are often asked to cater weddings with lots of dietary needs and garden and marquee weddings, serving table tapas, Spanish desserts and evening paella.

Near Battramsley, weddings are often in fields, barns or gardens. That’s exactly where live paella shines: no kitchen, just a level, sheltered spot. Let us know about access and ground. Every pan is cooked in front of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.

How it works

The paella is cooked in huge, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, which we agree with you beforehand. Golden-hour photos in Battramsley at midsummer come around 9:25pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May and 7:10pm in late September.

  1. Share your date, venue, numbers and plans for the day.
  2. We build the menu course by course and send a quote.
  3. We fit our timings around your speeches, photos and venue.
  4. On the day we set up, cook live and serve each course as planned.
  5. We clear our cooking area, and staff stay as agreed.

12 questions to ask before booking

Questions from Battramsley

Can you cook at venues in the New Forest National Park?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We will work to whatever the site needs.

We are having a ceremony at Church of St John: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is usually elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

Can you cook halal paella?

Yes. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in a separate pan.

What do you need at the venue?

Level ground for the burners, pans and a table, in the open air or a ventilated covered area, plus the venue’s agreement to cooking.

What if the weather’s bad?

We need a covered spot, like a gazebo or open-sided marquee. We plan for rain with you in advance.

Can you provide dessert?

Yes. Churros, crema catalana and tarta de Santiago are popular choices.

Do you cook inside?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Courtyards, doorways and terraces often work.

Is the paella gluten-free?

Yes, on request. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.

DIY paella versus live catering

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.

For event organisers in Battramsley

For big numbers, we plan pans and serving points to keep queues short, so everyone eats promptly. Let us know how long the food break is.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

Is live paella right for your wedding?

Plated wedding meals need a kitchen and more staff. Paella needs a level, ventilated spot and permission, and feels more relaxed. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. Every event gets its own quote.

Why us?

  • We cover Battramsley and the whole of Hampshire
  • Plates, cutlery and waiting staff available
  • Fast service from the pan
  • Food that becomes part of the entertainment
