Do you come out to small places like West Itchenor?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Can you cook near the sea around West Itchenor?

Yes, with a sheltered cooking spot. Wind is the main issue on the coast, so we plan shelter.

How many paellas should we have?

Most events have two or three: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We will help you decide the split.

Are your tapas vegetarian-friendly?

Plenty are vegetarian, such as tortilla, bravas and padrón peppers. We label each dish.

Can you supply plates?

Yes, if you need them. Tell us what your venue provides and we will include the rest in the quote.

Planning for every diet

Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included. To make it work smoothly:

  • Match tapas with Spanish drinks
  • Plan more dishes if tapas are the meal
  • Ask for labels on each dish
  • Label seafood clearly

Staff keep the canapés coming.

Staff to serve canapés.

Paella compared with other options

For food that gets people mingling, tapas are hard to beat. Live paella pricing depends on the event. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. We itemise everything in your quote.

DIY paella versus live catering

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. We take care of all of it.

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, have hot stock ready, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

How it works

On the day, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so we time everything to your schedule. At midsummer, it’s light in West Itchenor until about 9:20pm, perfect for canapés outdoors. In late September, sunset is about 7:05pm; winter receptions, dark by 4:00pm, are better indoors.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and how you want the tapas served.
  2. We put together a tapas selection and a quote.
  3. On the day, we set up and prepare the hot tapas there.
  4. Canapés circulate with drinks, or tapas go to the tables.
  5. Afterwards, our equipment is cleared away.

Before we arrive

  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Leave space around the cooking area
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
