Tapas catering near Iver

How our tapas catering works in Iver

Tapas and paella go hand in hand, as a starter while the rice cooks, but they’re great on their own. Popular choices include padrón peppers, Serrano ham and patatas bravas, and we are frequently booked for tapas with a paella main course and table tapas as a starter.

Near Iver, tapas and sangria suit a garden or field party. You will know exactly what’s included before booking: the menu, the staff and any extras, with no surprises on the day.

12 questions to ask before you book

Live paella or other catering?

Plated starters need a kitchen. Table tapas are shared and relaxed. Compared with a plated meal, live paella is frequently good value, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. Ask us for a quote.

What you get with us

  • Food that becomes part of the entertainment
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan

Iver questions

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Peter: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking generally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Is Iver too small for live paella?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Can you cook indoors?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

Do you cover Iver?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, including Iver. For a quote, use our quote form.

Can you serve drinks?

Sangria, yes. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes, and meat eaters frequently go back for seconds. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.

What does tapas catering cost?

We quote for each event, based on what you actually want. Tell us your date and numbers and we will reply with a price.

Do you do starters?

Yes, it is the classic pairing. Tapas go out first, then the paella.

For big numbers, we plan pans and serving points to keep queues short, so guests are fed quickly. Let us know how long the food break is.

Step by step

Here’s how the day usually runs: we set up the pans and start the sofrito, the rice cooks in front of your guests, and it is served hot from the pan when you’re ready to eat. At midsummer, it is light in Iver until about 9:25pm, ideal for tapas in the garden. By late September it is dark around 7:05pm, and in December by about 3:55pm.

  1. Send us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. You get a selection and a price.
  3. We set up and finish the hot dishes.
  4. Canapés go round or tapas go to the tables.
  5. We pack down when service ends.

How to prepare

  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Get the venue’s permission for cooking
  • Tell us where to park and unload

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.
