Live tapas catering in Farlington

How our tapas catering works in Farlington

Plenty of tapas are vegetarian, such as tortilla, bravas and padrón peppers, and several can be made gluten-free. On the menu are Manchego with membrillo, croquetas and padrón peppers, and we are frequently booked for table tapas as a starter and tapas with a paella main course.

For a party in a place like Farlington, a tapas spread is easy and sociable. We plan the timings around your day, so the paella is ready when you want to eat.

What affects the price in Farlington

Your quote will be clear and itemised. The main things that affect it are:

  • How many staff you need
  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables

Live paella frequently compares well with a sit-down meal, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. We will send you a quote.

What to tell us

Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • Which courses you have in mind
  • The address or venue name
  • Roughly how many adults and children

To get a price, fill in our quote form. Tell us about your event in Farlington, and we will suggest paellas and extras to suit.

Is live paella right for your event?

Nibbles fill a gap. Tapas make a proper course. Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Everything is confirmed in writing.

Why us?

  • Starters and desserts to complete the menu
  • Served hot, straight from the pan
  • Separate pans for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests
  • Events in Farlington and across Portsmouth

Drinks receptions around Farlington

Farlington is about 2 miles south of Purbrook, in Portsmouth. Wherever your event is in the PO6 area, we can cook for your guests. We cover all 19 towns and villages across Portsmouth. You can also see our page for Southampton, about 17 miles away.

Canapé tapas suit the drinks after a ceremony at a church like Church of St Andrew. Nearby historic houses include Warblington Castle (2.9 miles east). Where a historic venue does not allow live cooking, canapé tapas may still be possible; ask the venue. The coast is within about 6 miles, so garlic prawns are popular.

Your questions about tapas catering in Farlington

How far is Farlington from London?

Roughly 61 miles from the centre of London, and we cover it as standard.

What about events near the coast?

Yes, with a sheltered cooking spot. Wind is the main issue on the coast, so we plan shelter.

Do you serve drinks with tapas?

Sangria and bar staff can be added.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes, and meat eaters frequently go back for seconds. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.

Do you have a kids’ option?

Children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we’ll plan a pan with them in mind.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Yes, it’s the classic pairing. Tapas first, paella to follow.

Do you cover Farlington?

We do. We cook at events in Farlington and across Portsmouth. Send us your date to check availability.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Even if it’s short notice, it is worth asking.

Should I cook it myself?

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. We take care of all of it.

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

For planners, venues and organisers

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Add sangria or cava
  • Book staff to carry canapés round
  • Make sure dishes are labelled
  • Separate seafood dishes from the rest

Hot dishes are finished on site.

Add a live paella main.

How it works

The paella is cooked in huge, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, which we agree with you beforehand. A summer drinks reception in Farlington has daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer, ideal for tapas in the garden. In late September, sunset is about 7:10pm; winter receptions, dark by 4:00pm, are better indoors.

  1. First, we check availability.
  2. You pick the style.
  3. We set up on arrival.
  4. We serve the spread.
  5. Afterwards, we clear up.

Before we arrive

  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
