Planners, venues and businesses

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep you updated on timings and set-up.

Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the garden and tell us about access, and we’ll let you know if live paella is a good fit.

DIY paella versus live catering

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.

Space, weather and the venue

The right spot keeps things safe and helps the paella cook evenly. We look for:

  • Permission from the venue
  • Room for a tapas table
  • Space to finish hot dishes

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and we’ll say what we think.

Tapas for events in Bridgemary

Bridgemary is about 1 mile north-west of Gosport, in Hampshire. Across the PO13 area, we’ll come to your venue or garden. Bridgemary is one of 683 towns and villages in Hampshire where we cook. We cook right across the region, from Bridgemary to Southampton (12 miles away).

After a ceremony at a church such as St Matthew's, canapé tapas with the drinks keep guests happy during photos. Guests travelling by rail: Fareham station is about 2.5 miles away. The coast is within about 5 miles, so garlic prawns are popular.

We cook at events all over PO13 and PO12. We can cater an event on streets such as Camp Road, Copse Lane and Agnew Road or the roads around them. We also cook at events in Rowner (1 mile north-west), Peel Common (1 mile west), Elson (1 mile south-east), Crofton (1 mile west) and Gosport (1 mile south-east). Bridgemary questions

Can you cook near the sea around Bridgemary?

Yes, with a sheltered cooking spot. Wind is the main issue on the coast, so we plan shelter.

Can you cater a reception after a service at St Matthew's?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

When should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.

Can you do sangria?

Sangria, yes. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.

Are the tapas served hot?

Yes, hot dishes are finished at the venue so they’re served at their best.

What areas do you cover?

London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight.

Do you serve drinks with tapas?

Sangria, yes, plus bar staff for your own drinks.

Who clears up?

Our cooking area is packed away and left clean. Table clearing is available with waiting staff.

How we price tapas catering

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • How long we are needed on site
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • How many courses

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. Every event gets its own quote.

Getting an accurate quote

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • A picture of the cooking space, if it is a garden or field
  • The venue or postcode
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff

Still deciding on the menu? No problem: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we will make suggestions. Start when you are ready: send us your details through our quote form.

How the day works

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up our cooking area, and get on with cooking and serving. Evening receptions in Bridgemary stay light until about 8:55pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, which suits an outdoor reception.

  1. Tell us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. You get a selection and a price.
  3. We set up and finish hot tapas on site.
  4. We serve canapés or table tapas.
  5. We clear our equipment afterwards.
