Paella catering in TN24: what to expect

A couple of different pans covers everyone: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Each is cooked separately. We’re frequently asked to cater garden parties and summer barbecues and wedding breakfasts and evening food, serving paella Valenciana, chicken and chorizo paella and mixed paella.

Service is quick: we serve straight from the pan, so even a long queue moves. When service is finished, we pack down.

  1. First, tell us about your event.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a clear quote.
  3. We agree timings, access and the cooking spot.
  4. On the day, we set up and cook in front of your guests.
  5. It is served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

Pricing in TN24

Live paella across TN24: what to know

TN24 covers everything from Ashford, Kennington and Godinton to 3 small villages and hamlets, and live paella works in all of them. In towns, plan parking and access; in villages, tell us about lanes and ground. Parts of TN24 are within a few miles of the Kent Downs National Landscape, so check venue rules on vehicles and cooking for countryside events.

Kennington: Nearby historic houses include Godinton House (2.3 miles west). Historic venues frequently limit cooking, so ask early if you are booking one. If you’re organising a summer fair for a school like Kennington Church of England Academy, a paella stall is a crowd-pleaser. Planning an evening event in Kennington? Sunset is around 8:45pm in late May, 9:15pm at midsummer and 7:00pm in late September; once it’s dark, we need light to cook and serve by.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, keep the stock hot, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

Live paella or other catering?

Vans serve one order at a time. A big pan serves many guests fast, which suits weddings and parties where everyone eats together.

Questions to ask before booking

  • When payment is due
  • The deadline for final numbers

Dietary needs and planning tips

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Ask for labels on each pan
  • Send allergies to us in writing
  • Collect dietary needs with your RSVPs
  • Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down

Paella is best eaten as soon as it’s ready, so we serve when guests are ready.

Crockery, cutlery and waiting staff are available if your venue does not provide them.

Before you choose a spot

Every venue is different, so we will ask about yours before we confirm. Generally, we look for:

  • Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover
  • Somewhere close to park and unload
  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
