Our paella catering in RG29

We cook every paella from scratch on the day, beginning with a sofrito of onion, garlic, peppers and tomato, followed by stock, saffron and rice. On the menu are vegetable paella, mixed paella and paella Valenciana, and typical bookings are for leaving dos and retirements and summer garden parties.

We work to your timings. If things run behind, we hold the paella at the right stage so it’s still served fresh.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We put together a menu and a clear quote.
  3. We arrive early, set up the cooking area and start the stock.
  4. The rice cooks in full view, while tapas or canapés go round.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan and clear our area when service ends.

Landmarks near Odiham

Locally, our events take us close to All Saints Church, The Bell Inn and Mayhill Junior School and the streets around them. The closest station to Odiham is Hook station, roughly 2.1 miles north-west of the centre. A little further out are West Green House Agricultural Museum (3.3 miles north) and Odiham Castle (1.2 miles north-west). For a walk before or after the party, there’s Dogmersfield Lake and Tundry Hill.

Planning live paella in RG29

Across RG29, we cook in 3 towns and 7 villages and hamlets, so whether your event is in Odiham, North Warnborough and South Warnborough or a quiet village, the approach is the same: level ground, ventilation and agreed timings.

Odiham: School fairs and fundraisers, for a school such as Mayhill Junior School, can book us as a food stall. For a christening or wedding at a church such as All Saints Church, a paella lunch or reception nearby is an easy way to feed everyone. Around midsummer it stays light in Odiham until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are typically served in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 4:00pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

Diets, allergies and planning

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Plan a meat, a seafood and a vegetable or vegan pan
  • Confirm allergies by email
  • Collect dietary needs with your RSVPs

On the day, you shouldn’t have to think about the food. We set up, cook and serve, and keep in touch with you or your venue about timings.

We can add sangria and bar staff to serve drinks you provide.

What paella catering costs

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • The number of people
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Travel, parking and access
  • Starters, canapés and desserts

The cost per head generally falls as numbers rise, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

What we need to know

You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • The venue or postcode
  • The courses you’d like

The quickest way to a quote is to use our quote form. Tell us about your event in RG29, and we will suggest paellas and extras to suit.

Why live paella works

Live paella is made for outdoor events: it is cooked in the open, served hot and eaten together.

If you’re planning any of these, we can help:

  • Big birthdays
  • Garden get-togethers
  • Leaving dos and retirements
  • Fairs, fêtes and festivals

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Some hosts like to cook themselves. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Space, weather and the venue

We cook in large pans over gas burners, so the cooking area needs a little planning. Here’s what we look for:

  • Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot
  • The venue’s permission for live cooking
  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area

RG29: your questions answered

Can the paella be cooked in a hall?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Courtyards, doorways and terraces frequently work.

How soon do we need to book?

The sooner the better. Peak dates go quickly, so contact us early.

Can you cook in the rain?

We need a covered spot, such as a gazebo, marquee or open-sided barn with good ventilation. We plan for rain with you in advance.

What space do you need to cook?

Not a lot: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. Send us a picture if you are not sure.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Of course. Canapé tapas with the drinks, or table tapas to share, while the rice is cooking.

What areas do you cover?

We cater across London and the South East, including Hampshire. See all areas.

Can you serve drinks?

Sangria, yes. We can also supply bar staff for your own drinks.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
