Paella party catering in Wormshill

How our paella party catering works in Wormshill

A paella party takes the cooking off your hands without turning the day into a formal dinner. We set up in a corner of the garden or venue and cook while your guests chat. For family reunions and neighbourhood celebrations, we will put together a menu of vegetable paella, chicken and chorizo paella and churros.

Country parties near Wormshill suit live paella: cooked outside, served from the pan. Plan a gazebo in case of rain. We bring everything we need to cook, and pack down our cooking area when service is finished.

Working with your venue

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.

Planning for every diet

Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. A few tips:

  • Count adults and children separately
  • Have bins ready
  • Have enough chairs for most guests
  • Let the neighbours know

Booked staff help serve and clear so you can relax.

Sangria sets the mood.

How we price paella party catering

There are no hidden charges: the quote reflects:

  • Your choice of paellas
  • The number of people
  • Parking and unloading
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. Your quote spells it all out.

What to tell us

When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Where the event is
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • Anything your venue supplies

12 questions to ask before booking

DIY paella versus live catering

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

Questions from Wormshill

Is Wormshill close to London?

About 37 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.

Is Wormshill too small for live paella?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

Is my garden big enough?

Often, yes, if there is a level spot clear of fences and trees. Send us a photo of the space.

How much paella per person?

We plan quantities from your guest numbers, timings and other courses, with a little extra built in. Give us accurate numbers for the best result.

How long do you need on site?

We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, timed around your event.

What about pudding?

Yes. Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana, or you can serve your own cake.

Can you cook in the rain?

We need a covered spot, such as a gazebo, marquee or open-sided barn with good ventilation. We’ll agree a wet-weather plan with you.

Will it be noisy or smoky?

Paella is cooked over gas, so there is cooking steam and smell but little smoke. The smell is normally the best advert for the party.

The process

We arrive in good time before you want to eat, set up the cooking area and get the stock going. Guests normally gather round to watch while it cooks. At midsummer, it’s light in Wormshill until about 9:15pm, which gives a garden party a long evening. In late September it’s dark by about 7:00pm; add lights for the evening.

  1. We check your date and the space.
  2. You pick paellas, tapas and desserts.
  3. We set up the burners and start the sofrito.
  4. The rice goes in and your guests gather round.
  5. It’s served hot, and we clear away afterwards.

Before we arrive

  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
  • Get the venue’s permission for cooking
