Paella party catering in Worlds End, cooked live

A paella party means no cooking for you, and no formal dinner either. We set up in a corner of the garden or venue and cook while your guests chat. We’re frequently asked to cater retirement and leaving parties and naming days and christenings, serving vegetable paella, seafood paella and chicken and chorizo paella.

Near Worlds End, parties are frequently in gardens or fields. Tell us about lanes and parking, and we’ll handle the rest. The paella is served straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and service is quick once it’s ready.

Planners, venues and businesses

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

For big numbers, we plan pans and serving points to keep queues short, so guests are fed quickly. Let us know how long the food break is.

Should I cook it myself?

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Common questions in Worlds End

What’s the nearest station to Worlds End for guests?

Portchester station, about 3.7 miles south of the centre.

Is Worlds End too small for live paella?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

Do you provide plates and cutlery?

Yes, on request. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables can be added to your booking.

Can you do a kids’ option?

Paella is popular with children, especially a mild chicken one. Let us know numbers and ages.

Do you do desserts?

We can add a dessert. Tell us what you have in mind in your enquiry.

What space do you need to cook?

Less than you might think: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. If in doubt, send a photo.

Do you do vegan paella?

Yes, and meat eaters frequently go back for seconds. Each is cooked separately, with its own stock and utensils.

What if the weather’s bad?

Rain doesn’t stop us, as long as there’s a ventilated cover. We’ll talk it through before the day.

What paella party catering costs

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • The number of people
  • Parking and unloading

Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you can choose exactly what you need.

What to tell us

The more we know about your party, the better we can plan. Try to include:

  • Where the event is
  • What the venue already provides
  • The date and rough timings
  • A picture of where we’d cook

We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually want. To ask for one, fill in our quote form.

The process

Once the rice is in, we do not stir it. That is how the grains cook evenly and the toasted base, the socarrat, forms. Your guests will smell it before they see it. For a late-May party in Worlds End, sunset is around 8:55pm; at midsummer it is about 9:20pm. After dark, the cooking area needs good lighting.

  1. We check your date and the space.
  2. You choose your paellas and any extras.
  3. We set up the burners and start the sofrito.
  4. In goes the rice, and guests gather.
  5. It’s served hot, and we clear away afterwards.

Preparing for the day

  • Tell us where to park and unload
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
  • Plan cover in case of rain
