How our paella party catering works in The Stocks
You get to be a guest at your own party: no shopping, prep or cooking. We take care of the food. Popular choices include vegetable paella, seafood paella and churros, and we are regularly asked to cater big birthdays and neighbourhood celebrations.
In a small place like The Stocks, a party in the garden or a nearby field is often the plan. Let us know about access, and we will handle the rest. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so one booking can cover the whole menu.
Questions from The Stocks
Is The Stocks close to London?
Roughly 49 miles from the centre of London, and we cover it as standard.
We’re having a ceremony at Parish Church of St John the Baptist: can you cater afterwards?
Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking usually happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.
Do you cater for coeliacs?
We can, if you tell us in advance. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.
How many paellas should we have?
Normally two or three, so every guest has a choice. We’ll recommend a mix based on diets.
Do you cater for young children?
Children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will plan for them.
Will the neighbours notice?
Paella is cooked over gas, so there is cooking steam and smell but little smoke. Neighbours may well want an invitation.
Do you cook it at the event?
Yes, always. We cook from scratch in large pans at your venue, in front of your guests.
Can you cook in my back garden?
Most gardens are fine. We need level ground, clearance and access. Send us a picture.
How it works
When the rice goes in, it’s left alone. That’s what gives paella its separate grains and crispy base. Your guests will smell it before they see it. For a late-May party in The Stocks, sunset is around 8:45pm; at midsummer it’s about 9:15pm. After dark, the cooking area needs good lighting.
