Paella party catering in Sheet Hill, cooked live

A paella party takes the cooking off your hands without turning the day into a formal dinner. We set up in a corner of the garden or venue and cook while your guests chat. Typical bookings include anniversary celebrations and leaving dos and retirements, with chicken and chorizo paella, mixed paella and churros.

A country party near Sheet Hill is perfect for paella: cooked in the open and served hot. Have a gazebo ready in case of rain. The paella is served straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and service is quick once it’s ready.

How it works

We cook over gas burners in wide, shallow pans. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, which we agree with you beforehand. At midsummer, it’s light in Sheet Hill until about 9:20pm, which gives a garden party a long evening. By late September sunset is around 7:00pm, so plan festoon lights for later parties.

  1. You tell us the date, address, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. You get a menu suggestion and a clear price.
  3. On the day we arrive, set up our cooking area and start cooking.
  4. Guests gather round as it cooks, nibbling tapas if you’ve booked them.
  5. We serve from the pan and clear our cooking area away when we’re done.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure we can park close by to unload
  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time

  • Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
  • A photo of the garden helps us check the space
  • Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Party venues around Sheet Hill

Sheet Hill is about 5 miles east of Sevenoaks, in Kent. We cater parties at homes, gardens and venues in Sheet Hill and nearby villages. We cook in 922 places in Kent, from the larger towns to small villages. You can also see our page for London, about 23 miles away.

Christenings and naming days often start at a local church such as Plaxtol Church, with a paella lunch at home or in a hall afterwards. Nearby historic houses include Old Soar Manor (1.3 miles east) and Ightham Mote (1.3 miles south-west). Grand settings like these frequently have strict catering rules, so for most parties a garden or hired hall is simpler. The Kent Downs National Landscape is within about 7 miles of Sheet Hill, so many gardens around here have a great outlook.

We cover parties in every part of TN15. Local streets include Bewley Lane and Sheet Hill; a party at home on any of them works well with live paella. Diets, allergies and planning

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Here’s how:

  • Ensure most people can sit to eat
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Put out bins for general waste and recycling
  • Keep children and pets away from the burners

If you’ve booked staff, they’ll help serve and clear.

Churros with chocolate are a hit with children and adults.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

Events we cater in Sheet Hill

It’s the easiest way to feed a party without being stuck in the kitchen, and guests love it.

If you’re planning any of these, we can help:

  • Retirement celebrations
  • Milestone birthdays
  • Anniversary celebrations
  • Garden parties and summer barbecues

Parks such as Ivy Hatch Nature Reserve usually need permission for cooking, so a garden or hired venue is often easier.

What your quote should include

  • If the price includes VAT
  • How each diet is kept separate
  • How many staff are coming, and for how long
  • What happens if it rains

Our caterer checklist

Prices and what affects them

There are no hidden charges: the quote reflects:

  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • The number of people

Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you only pay for what you want.

Details that help

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • The venue or postcode
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • A photo of the cooking space, if it is a garden or field
  • Any dietary needs and allergies

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: the venue, the timings, the courses you’d like and any extras. When you’re ready, use our quote form.

Is live paella right for your party?

A hog roast is great for meat lovers, but harder for vegetarians and vegans. Paella covers everyone with separate pans. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, along with staff, extras and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Why us?

  • Cooking your guests will gather round to watch
  • Everything cooked fresh at your event
  • Hot food served quickly from the pan
  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
