How we price paella party catering

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Whether you need crockery
  • The paellas you choose
  • Parking and unloading
  • The number of people

There is no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. We itemise everything in your quote.

Getting an accurate quote

You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • The date and time of the event
  • A picture of the space, if you can
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers

Not sure what you need yet? That is fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we’ll make suggestions. To start, send us your details through our quote form.

Paella party catering for your party in Selsey

A paella party means no cooking for you, and no formal dinner either. We set up in a corner of the garden or venue and cook while your guests chat. On the menu are mixed paella, tapas and churros, and we’re often booked for wakes and memorial gatherings and anniversaries and engagement parties.

In Selsey, home and the local hall are popular party venues. Paella works in either, as long as there’s outdoor or ventilated space. We bring everything we need to cook, and pack down our cooking area when service is finished.

The process

On the day, we set up our cooking area, light the burners and start the sofrito. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so we time everything to your schedule. At midsummer, it is light in Selsey until about 9:20pm, so a garden party can run well into the evening. In late September it is dark by about 7:05pm; add lights for the evening.

  1. Send us the date, the address, numbers and diets.
  2. You get a menu suggestion and a clear price.
  3. We arrive, set up in your garden or venue and start the sofrito.
  4. Guests gather round as it cooks, nibbling tapas if you’ve booked them.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan, then pack down.

Questions from Selsey

What about events near the coast?

Yes, with a sheltered cooking spot. Wind is the main issue on the coast, so we plan shelter.

Is Selsey close to London?

About 61 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.

Can you cater at a hired venue?

Frequently, yes. We need somewhere outside or well ventilated to cook, and the venue’s permission.

What areas do you cover?

We cater across London and the South East, including West Sussex. Find your area.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes. We bring the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook it there and then, serving it hot from the pan.

How early should we book?

The sooner the better, but it is always worth asking. We’ll check availability right away.

Can you supply plates?

If you need them. Proper crockery or good-quality disposables are available.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, sangria. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.

Catering for every guest

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Let the neighbours know
  • Give separate numbers for children
  • Collect dietary needs with your invites
  • Put out bins for general waste and recycling

Kids are fascinated by the huge pans, at a safe distance.

We can bring plates, cutlery and staff.

What we need at the venue

Every venue is different, so we’ll ask about yours before we confirm. In general, we need:

  • A quick photo of the spot helps us plan
  • Somewhere close to park and unload
  • Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise before you book.

Planners, venues and businesses

Events in public spaces, like parks, usually need permission. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
