Paella party catering for your party in Sarre

Most gardens can host a paella party, if there’s a level spot away from fences and trees. Send us a photo if you’re unsure. Whether it is street parties and neighbourhood get-togethers and family reunions, we’ll put together a menu of mixed paella, seafood paella and chicken and chorizo paella.

A country party near Sarre is perfect for paella: cooked in the open and served hot. Plan a gazebo in case of rain. We plan the timings around your day, whether that’s speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area
  • Confirmation that open cooking is allowed

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and we will say what we think before you book.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Here’s how:

  • Warn the neighbours
  • Have enough chairs for most guests
  • Arrange a gazebo in case of rain
  • Ensure children stay back from the pans

When you’re ready to eat, we serve straight from the pan, while you enjoy your guests.

A jug of sangria sets the tone, with an alcohol-free version for drivers and children.

DIY paella versus live catering

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Live paella or other catering?

DIY catering saves money but costs you time. Book us and you’re free to enjoy it. Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you only pay for what you want.

Why book with us

  • Catering across Kent, including Sarre

Planners, venues and businesses

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We’ll provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

Hosting a party at home? Send us a photo of the garden and tell us about access, and we’ll let you know if live paella is a good fit.

Sarre parties: what to know

Sarre is about 5 miles south-east of Herne Bay, in Kent. We cook at parties in gardens, halls and venues around Sarre and nearby villages. Sarre is one of 922 places in Kent where we cook. Our nearest city page is Canterbury, about 8 miles away.

Historic houses near Sarre include Quex Park (4.1 miles north-east). Grand settings like these frequently have strict catering rules, so for most parties a garden or hired hall is simpler. If guests are coming by rail, the nearest station is Minster station, about 3.5 miles east. The coast is within about 6 miles, so seafood paella frequently features, with shelter from the breeze planned in.

Here we cover the CT7 postcode area, and we can cater your party anywhere in it. We can cater a party on streets such as Island Road, Old Road and Chantry Park or the roads around them. If your venue is just outside Sarre, we also cover St Nicholas at Wade (1 mile north-east), West Stourmouth (1 mile south), East Stourmouth (2 miles south), Monkton (2 miles east) and Upstreet (2 miles south-west). Further out, we also cater in Canterbury (8 miles south-west), Margate (7 miles north-east), Dover (14 miles south), Ramsgate (7 miles east), Broadstairs (8 miles east) and Whitstable (9 miles west).

A little further out are Powell-Cotton Museum (3.8 miles north-east).

  • Pubs nearby include Kings Head Inn (within half a mile east)

Dishes our guests love

Chicken & chorizo paella

A smoky favourite with children and adults, and a good choice for guests who do not eat seafood.

Vegetable paella

A vegetable pan means vegetarians eat well.

Common questions in Sarre

Is Sarre too small for live paella?

No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.

Can you cook in Grove Ferry Picnic Area?

Only if the landowner, usually the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we’ll send any information they need.

Can you cater at a hired venue?

Generally, if there is outdoor space to cook. Ask the venue about live cooking.

Can we add tapas or canapés?

Of course. Canapés with drinks or tapas for the tables, served while the paella cooks.

Will it be noisy or smoky?

There’s a cooking smell, but much less smoke than a barbecue. A friendly note to the neighbours helps.

Can you serve drinks?

Sangria, yes. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.

Can you supply plates?

On request. Proper crockery or good-quality disposables are available.

Can you bring crockery?

Yes, on request. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables can be added to your booking.

The process

Your timings come first. If speeches run late or the photos take longer, we adjust the cooking so it’s still served fresh. A summer party in Sarre stays light until about 9:15pm at midsummer, which gives a garden party a long evening. By late September sunset is around 7:00pm, so plan festoon lights for later parties.

  1. It starts with your date, address, numbers and any diets.
  2. We suggest a menu and confirm a quote.
  3. We arrive, set up in your garden or venue and start the sofrito.
  4. Guests gather round as it cooks, nibbling tapas if you’ve booked them.
  5. We serve from the pan and clear our cooking area away when we are done.

Preparing for the day

  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Have a level space ready for the pans
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
