Planning a party in Red Hill

Red Hill is about 4 miles west of Maidstone, in Kent. Anywhere in ME18, we will come to your venue or garden. Red Hill is one of 922 towns and villages in Kent where we cook. You can also see our page for London, about 28 miles away.

About our paella party catering in Red Hill

It is easy to cater for a mix of guests: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood pan and a vegetable or vegan pan side by side. A plain chicken paella keeps children happy. Typical bookings include retirement and leaving parties and neighbourhood celebrations, serving tapas, vegetable paella and chicken and chorizo paella.

Near Red Hill, parties are often in gardens or fields. Tell us about lanes and parking, and we’ll handle the rest. The paella is served straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and a queue moves quickly.

FAQs for Red Hill

Do you come out to small places like Red Hill?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

How far is Red Hill from London?

About 28 miles from central London.

How far in advance should we book?

Early is best, but ask even if it is soon. We’ll check availability straight away.

Do you do starters?

Yes, it’s the classic pairing. Tapas go out first, then the paella.

When should we book?

The sooner the better. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.

How long do you need on site?

It depends on the menu and numbers. We’ll agree arrival, cooking and serving times with you so the paella is ready when you want it.

Can you supply crockery?

We can. Tell us what you need and we will include it in the quote.

How many paellas should we have?

Most events have two or three: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We will suggest a split based on your guests.

The process

Expect a friendly, organised team. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up our cooking area, and cook and serve without fuss. At midsummer, it’s light in Red Hill until about 9:20pm, which gives a garden party a long evening. By late September sunset is around 7:00pm, so plan festoon lights for later parties.

  1. It starts with your date, address, numbers and any diets.
  2. You get a menu suggestion and a clear price.
  3. We arrive, set up in your garden or venue and start the sofrito.
  4. Guests gather round as it cooks, nibbling tapas if you’ve booked them.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan, then pack down.

Is live paella right for your party?

Cooking yourself saves money but costs you the party. With live paella, you are a guest too. Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: staff, crockery, bread and salads, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.

Why us?

  • Sangria, plus bar staff for your own drinks
  • We cover Red Hill and the whole of Kent
  • Waiting staff and crockery on request
  • Every diet catered for, pan by pan

See Our prices page And Our guide to catering costs.

Catering for every guest

With a little notice, every diet is easy. We suggest:

  • Have cover ready for a shower
  • Have bins ready
  • Plan seats for most guests
  • Add a diet question to the invitation

When you are ready to eat, we serve straight from the pan, while you enjoy your guests.

Plates, cutlery and waiting staff can be added.

Should I cook it myself?

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • How many guests are eating
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Parking and unloading
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood

Got a budget? Let us know, and we will put together a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

What we need to know

These details help us quote quickly:

  • A photo of the space, if you can
  • Where the event is
  • Which courses you have in mind
  • Your date and when you want to eat

Send us the date, your venue or ME18 postcode and guest numbers, along with any dietary needs, and we’ll reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. To get started, fill in our quote form.
