How our paella party catering works in Nutbourne

Paella is relaxed food: it is served from the pan and shared, without any fuss. We’re often asked to cater big family gatherings and big birthdays, with churros, tapas and seafood paella.

In a small place like Nutbourne, a party in the garden or a nearby field is often the plan. Let us know about access, and we will handle the rest. We cook every pan in full view of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.

Live paella or other catering?

Ordering in is easy but forgettable. Live paella gives guests a show. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. Our quotes spell it all out.

Why choose Love Paella in Nutbourne

  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
  • Separate pans for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests
  • We cover Nutbourne and the whole of West Sussex
  • Live cooking, not reheated food

Read How we price And The cost guide.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it is harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

Catering for every guest

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Here’s how:

  • Keep children and pets away from the burners
  • Have enough chairs for most guests
  • Put out bins for general waste and recycling
  • Warn the neighbours

When you are ready to eat, we serve straight from the pan.

Sangria sets the mood.

Dishes our guests love

Vegetable paella

Vegetable paella in its own right, with peppers, beans and artichokes.

Seafood paella

A seafood pan with prawns and mussels.

  • Send a photo of the garden so we can check

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

How it works

Watching it cook is half the fun. We start with the sofrito, add the stock and saffron, then spread the rice across the pan and leave it alone to cook while your guests chat. A summer party in Nutbourne stays light until about 9:20pm at midsummer, so a garden party can run well into the evening. By late September sunset is around 7:05pm, so plan festoon lights for later parties.

  1. It starts with your date, address, numbers and any diets.
  2. You get a menu suggestion and a clear price.
  3. On the day we arrive, set up our cooking area and start cooking.
  4. The paella cooks while your guests chat, with any tapas served first.
  5. We serve from the pan and clear our cooking area away when we are done.

Preparing for the day

  • Choose a level spot for the cooking area
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
